This is a great toy. However it is not for use for kids under 10. My 8 year old struggled with it and was never able to get it to fly. It really needs to be launched from adult height, but my kids had just as much fun watching me do it. I had to spend a good deal of time adjusting the flight surfaces to get a successful launch. Luckily there are flaps on the wings that are adjustable. When you use this make sure you are in a BIG open field. If a breeze catches this thing right it is gone, gone, gone (as we sadly watched one of ours disappear into the horizon today) :(. The plane also seems to have a natural attraction to tall trees, roof tops and unscalable fences, so be aware of your surroundings.

The very cool thing about this plane is that on several launches we have gotten it up to 50ft. It takes about 20 turns of the crank to get a full charge and the engine will run for about 40 seconds which is plenty of flight time for an attention-span-challenged kid.

I have cracked the wings on some hard landings but clear tape works perfectly for that. Hard landings are rare with this plane also.

I bought this last summer for my then 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. She and I previously had a blast playing in the front yard with balsa planes. This one turned out to be a bit too complicated for her little hands and fingers, but we had fun together - me winding/charging the plane and her releasing it. I was amazed at the range on this little beast! It also proved to be quite durable, as I had to rescue it from the roof and nearby trees on several occasions. While it usually behaved politely and stayed in the yard, several times it demonstrated amazing ability to ride the wind - resulting in several chases down the street to neighbors yards. Huff-puff! Overall, it's a nice little toy. I still have it and I'm sure we'll be playing with it again, soon.

Don't waste your money. Does not work except one flight in 10. Tried 30 times, got three flights. Returned for refund. Go back to the drawing board! MH
