Wow, is this thing rugged! We got two for our grandsons, aged 5 and 6. They live on a mountain in a very rural area, so a toy that breaks is a big disappointment. And, being in the great far away, eating batteries is also not fun. Well, for over six months now, our boys have played with their trucks night and day. The batteries last for hours and hours.
There is a scratch here and there; and they're definitely dirty (the trucks and the boys), but they are still performing perfectly. If your kids or grandkids enjoy beating up toys outside in the dirt, they will love you for buying this one.

Our three year old has had a great time with this truck. It seems very durable and has now stood up to six months of abuse from him. It has been inside and outside and lived through all of it. I strongly recommend it for a three year old.

My 2 y.o. loves this truck. The operation, however, needs improvement - the rear wheels (the ones that pivot to allow the truck to turn when backing) do not always get a firm grip when going either forward or reverse causing the truck to turn unpredictably making it difficult to control. Try using wide rubber bands on the wheels for improved traction.

My nephew loves his dump truck. It doesn't do anything special, really, but he gets a kick out of playing with it.

It only has 2 buttons on the controller, so it's very easy for tots to use!

I bought this for my grandson. He played with it constantly for about two days, then it started making a grinding noise inside and quit working. Would be a great toy if it were more rugged. As is is though, I have to give it only 2 stars.

I bought this for our son (who was 22 months at the time) this past Christmas, and it broke in one day. It is not rugged or durable for a toddler at all. My husband thinks there may be a loose connection in the remote control because when you push the buttons nothing happens anymore, but that doesn't help our son. I have to hide it from our son now because when he sees it he ends up crying when he can't get it to work like it did the 1st day. What a waste of money...

We have one of each kind (backhoe, bulldozer, dump truck) and our kids have really enjoyed them. They came with batteries but ran slowly until we replaced them with new batteries and those lasted a long time. It looks like they don't come with batteries any more.

This is a really cute toy. It does work, although it only has a forward and a turn button. You have to anticipate ahead of time to turn or the truck will get stuck. This is a hard concept for my 2 year old but he will learn. He also likes playing with the truck without the radio controlled part so that's good as well. If you leave the truck switched to the on position, it seems to surge forward on its own randomly, which is a little bit weird. Catches you off guard until you figure out that it does this. I try to switch it off when my son isn't playing with it. Overall, a cute toy. Seems well made. We'll see how long the radio control part works as that's what seems to die first on these type of toys.

Very dissapointing to have my son open on Christmas morning -- and it doesn't work. It only turns arounds and won't go forward. I bought a while back so I didn't spend so much $$ during the holidays -- so who even knows if Amazon will take it back. Also, it is possesed? It keeps jerking forward for like a second when no one is playing with it. Something is definitely wrong with this toy...... Anyway, I wouldn't waste your money.

I bought this toy through Amazon for my sons Christmas (which we celebrated early this year). When he opened it he was in love, and couldn't wait to try it out, HOWEVER after I tried three different sets of batteries the toy STILL does not work. I am returning it for a refund, but I am very disappointed in Amazon.
This toy MAY be a very fun, very durable toy, however the one I received was defective and did not work at all. What a shame, as it looked like the perfect RC Car for my little man.
