My son had been asking for a remote control car for ages so we decided on this one as a starter. He was so excited when the box arrived, but when we installed the batteries and tried to play with it, it just didn't work. Kind of went off and on, stop and go--as if there wasn't clear communication between the remote control and the car. We were very disappointed. Also, this car only turns in one direction.

I got this for my 4-year-old who had interest in remote control things, but had never operated one. He LOVED it!! He could operate it right away and the price was unbelievable! It has worked magnificently. It even does pretty well on carpet.
We liked it so much, we ordered another one just like it for one of his friend's birthdays and he liked it too! The only negative thing I have to say about it is for the parent-the batteries are EXTREMELY difficult to get to and install. I was afraid I was going to break the chassis to get to them and put them in. I am dreading the day the batteries die because it is such a hassle to replace them. The instructions are too simple: "Remove screw and install batteries." In reality, you have to unscrew about 8 screws, pop off the rubber outer part of the car, then pop off the hard plastic chassis plate to access the battery compartment. I couldn't get this off; I could only lift the rear end up high enough to slide a battery in part way, then while holding it up, take a screw driver and poke the battery into place....x3. Not fun. So far, the batteries have lasted a month though, with nearly every day use.

I had bought this as a gift for my 3 yr old nephew. He was so excited to get the remote control car. We installed the 9V battery in the remote and 3AA batteries in the car. We were ready for action. The problem is that it wouldnt quite work for more than a second. With an eager 3 year old waiting, we opened it up, double checked the batteries and all were new and properly positioned. Still it only worked for a second. A huge disappointment. Great idea. Soft toy, easy to operate. But it just didnt work.

We got this toy for our granddaughter (2 years old) for Christmas. It
was the first thing she opened and it took a while to get her to put it down so she can open other gifts. It is made of soft plastic so things it bumps or things that fall on it won't break it. Very easy to steer because the remote has only two directions, left turn and straight. Our two year old got the hang of it quick.

I purchased this toy as a Christmas gift for my soon to be 2 year old son. However, after reading the reviews I became worried that we would have problems come Christmas day. So, I decided to open it and play with it a little. I had no problem opening up the car to insert the batteries. From previous reviews, I thought it was going to be difficult - nope, just one screw and it came apart easily (maybe they fixed the design). The remote was a little tight inserting the 9volt - had to push pretty hard to snap it in. Once assembled (less than five minutes), I was ready to test the toy. Much to my delight and my dog's, it worked perfectly and I was able to chase the dog and tease him a bit. To his barks and tail wagging, I am giving this toy high stars and I think my son will love it come Christmas day. The soft material will save my walls and cabinets and the two directions are easy enough for me, but I am sure they will be a challenge to master for a two-year old. The toy will work on hand/eye coordination and also distance perception. Only drawback if I really had to find one, is that it is a bit noisy as the motor is a little rough sounding.

We bought two of these remote control cars for our two boys and neither worked. We have owned remote control toys from this brand before we bought a bee last year and it worked so well and the kids had so much fun we decided to get these. Unfortunatly these were sad. My kids were so excited when they saw them on Christmas because the other one had been so much fun but we could never get these to work. We tried different batteries and surfaces and one would not operate at all and the other would only turn it wouldnt go straight. Maybe the remote control bugs from this line are just better quality. Wouldnt waste money on these again though.
