Good for 4-7 yr old, August 2, 2007
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
My daughter received this for Xmas when she was 3 yrs old. She was never really able to control it until she was 4. Now she's 6 and able to drive all around. It has two settings for slow and medium speed (2.5mph & 5mph) The 5 mph setting is just perfect. Not too fast, not too slow. She takes her little sister along for the ride and they both love it. My only complaint is that the water tank for the hose doesn't hold very much, so you constantly have to refill it. Other than that, it is a great little truck. Rides well on grass and street.

Great - if it's not in for repairs..., November 17, 2007
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
We bought this for our two children about a year ago. We were smart enough to purchase the extended warranty on it, and it's a good thing we did. It has been in for repairs twice already. It would get start jerking as they were riding it, or making loud noises. My neighbor has the Mustang and the Escalade and they haven't had any problems with them -and their son drives them around like crazy, spinning out, etc. - whereas my kids are a little more 'tame' on the firetruck. (And yet, we're the ones taking the thing in for repairs!) The repair shop we've taken it to has made comments to us that these firetrucks are not very well made and they've repaired quite a few. So, overall, I would say that my kids love it - as long as it's working!

kid trax red fire engine electric ride-on, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
My husband and I bought this for our sons third birthday and he loves it. It's great for any child that loves firetrucks or who wants to be a fireman. The only down fall is that it doesn't have a seatbelt. So my husband and I had to put a large belt on it so that our one year old could ride along with our three year old. But it still works out well. So to all those future fireman this is a great set of wheels.

Under New Management, August 9, 2007

I work for the company that took over the Kid Trax ride on toys from Safety 1st. We completely updated the entire drive system on these units including the battery, battery connector, and circuit board. The old company Safety 1st had a lot of problems with the units, but now we have made them reliable and safe. The quality of the plastics and the amount of toys on the fire truck is impressive. The lights & siren look great and the super soaker like squirt gun shoots 12ft and is fun in the summer.

Too many problems for my child to enjoy!, October 15, 2008
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
My mother in law bought this fire truck for my son and he loves it. It is a shame that before a year I had to replace the battery causting me $80.00. Than the gear on the back driver side stripped. The only place to get parts is from hong kong and that took 3 months costing $50.00. Less than a month after repairing the gear they are making a horrible noise and are stripping again. I give up! It is a shame my son loves it but I would not recommend this tide on toy to anyone. We have had a 4 wheeler and a barbie jeep for years with no trouble at all. Think before wasting your money, it isn't worth the aggrevation.

Kid Trax Red Fire Engine review, May 2, 2008
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
Comes in one 4x2x2 box (approximately), with lots of packing under the wheel wells. All that is needed for asembly is the wheels, which includes 'hub cap' and wheel 'bolts'. Everything else already done. Stickers are already on the the truck. Battery needs to be charged 24 hours prior to first using. Button and pump for hose nozzle is tough for a 3 year old to press, but should be Ok for a 4 yr old. Sounds and noises are loud enough, but not ridiculous. water shoots out 8-6 ft when fully pumped. By far this is one of the biggest ride on's I have seen. Holds 2 children comfortably.

Great Firetruck!, December 28, 2007
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
We bought this firetruck for my 4 year old son for Christmas this year, all we've heard all year is how he wanted a BIG firetruck for Christmas... and this firetruck was everything he wanted, he was happy, so we were happy.
If I had to describe anything that I didn't like about it from a parent's point of view... the cord on the megaphone could have been longer so he wouldn't have to bend down to use it.
Also, the battery is a little bit of a pain to get to, you have to take off the seat, and then use a screwdriver to take the bar that's holding the battery in place off.
Plus, we are constantly making sure he doesn't forget to turn it off, it has an actual switch that you start it up with, it's really cute, it even sounds like a diesel (not very loud though, neither are the sirens and horns) but I don't know if it will or not run down the battery, so we are always checking to make sure he turns it off. But he doesn't really care about any of those negatives I pointed out. He absolutely loves the water hose on it, he's put out many fires just since Christmas. It's pretty fast too, the first time he rode it, we had forgotten to take the screw out so it wouldn't drop into second gear to go fast, but after we did, it picked up some speed.
When I bought it, Amazon said it was to be delivered by Christmas. I was getting a little worried, because the company they use for some reason acted like they couldn't deliver without calling first... and of course we apparently didn't get first call to schedule delivery (even though I have caller id and I have no calls that day that looked like it would have been them calling), we called them after I saw on the site where I could track the package, and tried to tell them to deliver it just when ever they could, that we are always at there so there would be someone there to sign for it, but they said they would call 30 minutes prior to delivery. The delivery was set up for Christmas eve so I was pretty nervous. I wasn't sure if I "missed their call" again if they wouldn't deliver it or not, and this was a very important Christmas present. Thankfully, they called and the man was in route for delivery, he delivered it like 20 minutes later, very friendly person. So we cut it close, but Amazon said it was to be delivered by Christmas and it was. So we got it on time, and my son loves his firetruck... So overall, the service and product are excellent in my opinion.

Batteries Don't Last & EXPENSIVE, October 26, 2008
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
We purchased the Kid Trax Fire Engine for Christmas last year. It works great and we have lots of fun until we needed to replace the battery. Try to find replacement batteries and that's when the fun stops. No store carries them (Not found in Toys R Us, Radio Shack, Walmart, Target). We spent $350.00 last year (with a coupon) and I just spent $82.00 for a new battery ($69.00 plus $13.00 shipping). Most replacement batteries for other vehicles cost around $30.00. Think about that before purchasing.

Rockin'!!, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
This truck is SO cool! My son lives, eats & breathes fire fighters and fire trucks so when this came he was in awe. His very own fire truck like Daddy's!! It's HUGE so be prepared and 5 miles perhour is actually pretty fast for a little one- so be prepared to run, too! It's a real blast.

Superior Ride-on lots of fun, December 30, 2007
This review is from: Kid Trax Red Fire Engine Electric Ride-On (Sports)
We purchased this for our Grandson, who is almost 5 for Christmas this year. He already has a gas powered quad, so we weren't sure he'd be happy with this toy, but he saw it in a Christmas catalog and wanted it.
Because the speed can be adjusted it is great for him at the higher speed. He loves this toy, and with the pumper hose and sirens and working megaphone/radio, he is in Firetruck Heaven!! Many thanks to whoever thought this one up!!
