I think the other reviewer must have installed these incorrectly. You have to attach one piece of each strap specifically to the furniture and the other end to the wall. It is clearly labeled, so it's not hard or anything, but it DOES make a difference. If you install it incorrectly (ie. furniture piece to wall and wall piece to furniture, you may have the problem the other reviewer mentioned). I tugged and yanked on mine after installation and the strap stayed tight.
These straps can take a decent size piece of furniture (ie. a tall chest of drawers) and seem much more secure to me than the ones that just have a plastic piece and not a strap. I will buy these over and over for small to medium size pieces of furniture. For extra large pieces that are VERY heavy, like an entertainment center, I would either use more than just two of these or buy the type that are more expensive ($10+) that are cables instead of straps.

We have a big, heavy cabinet in the baby room and I am so paranoid about it falling on my baby that I bought three types of furniture straps. The idea was that I could be guaranteed that at least one of the products would work. Anyways Safety First product was better quality and sturdier than this one. This product is ok for a piece of furniture that isn't that heavy. Go with Safety First for %100 piece of mind.

There were too many stories close to us about kids getting hurt (and worse) by bookshelves/dressers falling on them. These straps have given us a lot of piece of mind. They feel very secure, and my wife tells me they were easy to install (I was at work okay!?). These come very highly recommended from a father of 2.

Works great, we use these straps on all of our bookshelves and dressers and they do the job. Easy to install. I think those who had troubles did not install correctly. If you follow the directions they don't loosen up.

I love this strap. It is easy to install and holds the furniture firmly against the wall. The directions say to always use two straps for each piece of furniture. For my little, light stuff I used one and couldn't tip it even when trying to pull it over. I used three on my tall, heavy bookshelf though just because it is a little top heavy and I didn't want to risk it falling. It is very sturdy now. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because of it being plastic and if the strap isn't pulled tight enough it could slip off of the one end of the bracket. If they are installed correctly this isn't a problem though.

I like this product if you are just looking for something to do the job. But it has a SUPER long strap that is almost all excess. It does make it slightly easier to install with the extra length, but it is kind of weird to see a big long white strap hanging down the wall. You can tie up or do a few other things to hide it, but if I bought this type of product again, I would get the one I had before - it was a plastic zip style that was much smaller and hidden much easier.

Just a warning to other parents. We purchased this item and found it to be very unsafe. There is no way to lock the strap. Once it is tightened in place, all that is needed to untighten it is to pull on it, meaning the furniture could easily still topple over. Also, the sewn end of the strap pulled apart and came off from the bracket during its first use. I'm just glad this didn't happen after we had installed it. I would highly recommend looking for another product.
