Product Description

Sliding glass doors present many dangers to children. Keep them a little safer with this lock that works on glass, mirrors, wood or any other surface where drilling is difficult or unwanted. Helps prevent accidents and won't deface the surface when installed.

Customer Reviews

The doors just slide over the lock, and it does not engage.
N. Gopal
I placed it higher and it popped off the first time my kid tried to open the doors.

The first one broke within 5 uses; the second one lasted about 15 uses.

We have twin 3-year-old boys, and these wings have been the best safety device we've used yet. They are very strong boys (and often work together at trying to pry things open), and they have yet to overpower this lock (we've been using them for over a year). The important details about installing this lock is to make sure you put it up high on the door but no higher than up 3/4 of the door length. Also, you want to place it so that it is VERY close to the other door, so that when the doors are closed, there is barely 1/8 inch between the other door and this lock. Otherwise, anyone can get enough leverage to knock this off by pushing the other door. When the lock is RIGHT UP AGAINST the other door when they are closed, not even I can push the doors so that it comes off!

We got these for our sliding closet doors. Our daughter was able to eventually open the door hard enough that the adhesive came off. As long as your child doesn't try to use extreme force to open the door, they should work pretty well.

This product works great. The closet doors barely even wiggle. My daughter can not budge them at all. We placed it at the top of the doors and it worked, but did not work as well as we wanted. We moved it to the middle of the doors and it works wonderfully.

I bought this product to keep my cats out of the closets. She had it open in under 3 minutes. This is a 10 lb cat. What if it had been a toddler? Don't risk the safety of your children. It is a good idea, but poorly made.

This product needs longer tabs so they fit closets with a deeper space between the doors.

I agree with most reviewers who stated the item pops off the door. I finally had my husband put 2 screws through the plastic and through the door. Not sure if it will hold as the door is thin.

They need to find a much better mounting system.

I bought this product to keep an Alzheimer's Patient out of the closet.

We have mirror closet doors and if properly installed do not pop off. Like one reviewer indicated, I made sure the product was tight up to the "seam". I also prepared the installation spot by wiping it down good with rubbing alcohol first. Then I let it sit a day before "trying" it for stamina. Instructions don't say to but this is standard procedure for applying anything with self stick adhesive. I am willing to bet the reviewers who indicated a non stick problem did not do this. I can't budge the door with this installed.

It also works for installation with wider gap than indicated. We have a "3/4" gap because the door have a slight play to them in their tracks front to back. Just bend the "wings" up more until it is up far enough for at least 3/8" stickup factor on door you are stopping.

This is the first product review I have written, but I really felt I needed to let people know about this product. DO NOT buy this product unless you intend to modify it and screw it in the wall. My attempts at installing it normally failed when it fell off with the slightest nudge. I really needed it to work, so I drilled a hole in it and installed it to the wall with a screw. With that modification, the product works well and is very sturdy.
