We bought this set as a present for my 3 year old. My boys (ages 3 and 6) play with the train track almost everyday. They love the bridge and mountain. The set has several trains and different types of track pieces. The houses, people and trees are cute but my boys don't really play with them. They do like the road crossing and boat. Best of all this set fit with other wooden track we already own.

This product is an exceptional value when you consider what a branded version would cost. It did take a little assembly, and a couple of the drill holes were non-existent (so plan ahead some time for assembly prior to giving it to your child). The bridge train tracks do not stay together during my 2 year old's rather enthusiastic play, but I used some 3M hook adhesive to keep the sections together and that seemed to do the trick. Older children should have not problem with this. There are quite a few trains, which is a lot of fun. We did buy the Thomas the Train Motorized version, which does not work on this track because the bends are too tight, but I think the normal wooden Thomas trains would work just fine (although I haven't tried them yet). Also - the Thomas Die-Cast trains also don't fit (the wheels are too close together).

I was very pleased when I received this train set. I was amazed by how much it contains for the price. The pieces are all well made and attractive and my toddler has already had hours of fun with it. I was also thrilled to find out the the 2 big popular train sets (you know which one's I'm talking about!) both fit on this track, so I did not have to spend big money on a track. One caveat though, this is a HUGE set and is too big for the KidKraft table we purchased. Only buy if you have a lot of room for it and be careful about the size of your train table.
