I was skeptical about dollhouses after reading reviews of others, but this one was super. It took my husband two hours to put it together and he was astounded that all the holes matched up! The furniture is nice and sturdy. It's great that it's wooden and I'm sure our granddaughter is going to be thrilled. She wanted her Barbies to fit and this is huge.

Not the quality I had hoped for,

After reading the reviews for this "amazing" dollhouse by Kidkraft, I was very curious. It had sold out and was backordered so I had to wait to purchase it for my daughter's fifth birthday. She was thrilled. For the exhorbitant price, I was not.
Here are the good points: The house is huge - large enough for Barbie sized dolls. It is very colorful and beautifully laid out. The furniture is well made and sturdy, large enough to hold Barbie sized dolls. Some features of the dollhouse are nice - the wooden bannisters are attractive and the openness of it. Here are the bad points: The construction of the main part of the house is made up of wood, but cheap laminate with wall decals pasted on which actually were starting to peel off as my husband and I were putting it together. The edges of the windows were a little rough, like the paper needed to be smoothed a little. The stairs are plastic - couldn't Kidkraft have made them out of wood like they did the bannisters and furniture? The entire frame of the house was warped so that when we put it together, it did not fit properly, so we had to take the entire thing apart and return it to the store where we purchased it in Sacramento. I have to say, at the price we paid on sale ($[...]) I was expecting something of a little more quality. Maybe that's what dollhouses these days go for. It's too bad. However, I don't think my daughter even notices these defects, so I'm glad it makes her happy and hopefully it will encourage years of creative play.

I bought the Savannah dollhouse for my five-year-old granddaughter who lives in another state. She just loves it, and plays with it a lot. The only complaint she had was that it was hard for her to see the top story--it's taller than she is! (Of, course, this will change!).
The house is sturdy and well-built. The furniture is wood, hence durable. My son's comment on the phone was "Oh, Mom, Wow! Wow! Wow!" Hey, anytime you can impress an engineer that much, it's got to be good!

This is a wonderful and classic dollhouse. My almost 6 year old loves that it is huge and open to fit many of her dolls(barbie size). My only complaint is that i was disappointed in the furniture because the pictures showed that it was more than just wood, only expectations can be blamed for that. The Swing could really use a lot of adjustments the dolls do not stay on and it is not well built. All in all the furniture grows on you because it is built large and strong to help with those little hands. The time it took my 16 year old and I was about 2 hours and really easy because of the numbered pieces, small box but the manufacturer did a really good job so do not be scared it is in a million pieces, it is NOT!! Great for Adults and young children!!!

Looks good and is a nice design, but materials are questionable, screws too small to really hold it together - very disappointed in the quality from day one. Tired of fixing panels that pop out and the swing that really doesn't work if you put any weight on it.
On the plus side the furniture that came with it was pretty good and much better quality than the house! Wouldn't buy again for $[...] nevertheless $[...]. We had it a year and already threw it out. Junk.

We found out the hard way that Kidkraft has excellent customer service after the box showed up with a couple parts broken. Within 6 days, we had the replacement parts in hand (shipped free), which is really impressive, and customer service was very professional and responsive. My husband put the house together in about a half hour. It is a really cute dollhouse and our 6-year old fell in love with it instantly. It is definitely Barbie-sized and the wooden furniture looks solid and well-made (I couldn't get the swing to work either, but I'm working on it). The house itself is mostly MDF with some wood, so it's not a heirloom piece, but is well worth the price. We compared it to Real Good Toys playscale houses, which are better quality but start at $250 and require total assembly and painting, decorating, etc. We also considered the Barbie Dream House, but were turned off after seeing how flimsy the barbie hot tub van/rv is. Bottom line, this is a very cute dollhouse that Barbie and her friends will want to move right into.

This dollhouse was easy to assemble. However it is poorly made. I purchased it for my 3 and 4 year old children. They have broken the floor out of the middle level and broke several pieces of furniture. The bathroom tub and the toilet are the two pieces that broke first.

The house it self is beautiful. However the quality is so say the least a bit of a let down. I expected that at least straight out of the box it would be in good shape. Some of the pieces seemed to be bent and warped. When you tried to take off the #stickers that each piece had stuck to it off came the actual detailed print! There were also 2 different sections of wood that already had cracks in it. Some of the walls don't fit in the guides that they are supposed to slide in to and I have already had to take it apart twice to try and get things back in line. On Christmas night after owning this house for a mere day we heard a loud crash and when I went to go check turns out one of the floors came crashing down and broke a huge section. I guess I just expected more for the price paid. I mean for something over $100 I don't think I should have to settle for such poor quality. Very dissapointed. Honestly I would return it if it weren't such a pain to do so and if my daughter didn't already love it. I think it best to apply glue yourself if you want any chance of this thing staying together.

This was a present bought for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She has not stopped playing with it. She loves it! It is big enough that she can use her regular baby dolls in it. It would also be plenty big for Barbies. However, it is so big that she can't reach the attic level. I just figure that she'll grow into it.
I could see if a child climbed inside the dollhouse that a floor might cave in which is why I gave the durability of this toy 4 stars. The furniture is very cute that it comes with and looks well made.

I was very fearful of buying this after all the comments from the manufacturer and purchasers regarding the set up time. I am happy to say that I did it all by myself without very much trouble.I had feared that I would need male assistance as I am not assembly inclined. It looks great and is a really elegant addition to my daughters toy base. The furniture looks and feels like "big people" furniture. It is also NOT FAKE LOOKING like the Barbie House. The real linen on the bed is such a nice touch. I also adore the old fashioned wood aspect. Plastic doll houses do not seem like "real old school" doll houses that most little girls dream about. My daughter really loves it. As you can tell-so do I. They even sell additional furniture that you can re-decorate with. It fits Barbie's and the new Liv Girls. She even put her baby alive on the bottom floor. My daughter is 7 and it is taller than she is and that is the icing on the cake. She won't out grow it for a while. Definitely buy it. I researched doll houses like my computer and my car. This is the best one by far. Kid and Mom tested. Kid and Mom approved.
