Kidkraft Boat Toddler Cot

About a month ago when our 2 1/2 year old boy was still sleeping in his crib he started showing up in our room in the morning without any assistance and we knew that it was time to transition him to a toddler bed. We gave him the choice of the Kidkraft boat or fire truck beds, and he selected the boat. Once we ordered the bed we showed him photos and build his excitement and anticipation for the "big boy boat bed."

The bed arrived in a large and very heavy box, and came in quite a few pieces. The assembly could be daunting, but with the help of a power screwdriver and the right hex-head bit I was able to put everything together in about an hour. I don't even want to think about how long it would have taken with the included allen wrench.

The bed is sturdy and attractive, and we are very pleased with it overall. Our little boy transitioned to the bed without any issue, and he loves the storage area in the bow of the boat (which has a hinge that doesn't allow it to slam on little fingers). I would recommend this toddler bed without any hesitation or reservation.

I bought this for my grandsons "ocean themed" room. He transitioned from his crib to this bed without a hitch when he was about 18 months old. His crib mattress fit perfectly in this bed. I would recommend this bed.

We bought this bed for our 2 year old son and he loves it! It was a little challenging to put together, but definitely worth the time spent. It's nice that the bed is nice and low to the ground, as our son has rolled out a few times without getting hurt. Overall, a great purchase. Very cute and functional. No complaints.

Just got this for my 2 year old son. Was a bit of a struggle to put together (I am 5 months pregnant) by myself because three of the holes for the side pieces weren't quite right. But my husband was able to get it in no time. It is adorable- my son loves it, although we are waiting for the weekend for him to actually sleep in it. Can't wait to design his room around the boat bed!

I thought the Kidkraft Boat Toddler Cot was a cute bed for my 2 yr. young grandson and how I planned to decorate his room. I set a Saturday aside to spend time with him and assemble the bed, place pirate stickers on the wall, together. We opened the box and the entire screw package was opened and found their way to the bottom of the box. Needless to say only two parts were usable. I went to Kidkraft online to reorder parts, they directed me to Amazon "too many damaged parts" Amazon wanted me to return the item wait 3-5 days for a refund then ship out another bed. After explaining to the service representative; it will be after Christmas to receive the new one, she offered to ship out a new bed and I would have to purchase it. I received the new bed and figured I should check it out. It's a good thing...parts are left and right sides, this package contained two rights of one section and two lefts of another, six pieces were damaged. I called again and insisted on a new bed. Reluctantly, Amazon shipped a new bed; I stipulated to hold the bed on hand and replace the needed parts. Bottom line, it took three boxes to make one half-way decent bed. As far as quality, let's put it this way. The bow top is hinged to access the toy box "nice touch" the connecting nut through the hinge to the main support extends past the designed hinge gap and hits the other side of the hinge not allowing the lid to completely close and sit flat on the support. This provides an annoying loose top so when you push down on the top it slaps the box. Over time the hinge will bend and or the wood will give-out. I am glad this ordeal is over with...

I bougth this toddler cot last year. Delivery was fast. Instructions and materials were easy to follow and screws and bolts were properly labeled. Ease of assembly was easy(if you can read you can assemble this bed). My son loves the hidden drawer in front and had no problem transitioning to this cot. After a year, the cot had held well.

We loved this beds image and it seemed a little better made than the firetruck by the same maker (KC).
Unfortunately the headboard arrived with a dent in it and its visible. It is the first piece that goes into building the bed and holding it all together...so can not do without it. Have emailed Amazon as to what they recommed doing? Love the bed, but the dent is noticeable - unfortunately!

fairley easy to assemble. It took appox. 2hours but I recommend you hAVE AN ELECTRIC SCREW GUN WITH SOME ALLEN HEAD BITS.

We are expecting our third child and needed to move our 3 year old out of the crib (that was already converted to a toddler bed.) We let him have the final pick of which bed we wanted by showing him pictures in hopes of making the transition easier - it was between this boat and two plastic "character" beds. We are so happy he chose the boat, the quality is great compared to paying $100+ for a giant piece of plastic. It is true to it's description and easy to put together. My son has been sleeping soundly in his new boat bed for about a month and we are all very happy with it. Great Buy!

My son instantly loved this bed and its so adorable. i get many compliments and its actually very sturdy. I can lay on it without fear with my son if i want to read him a book.
