Although it's supposed to be for three years and up, I bought it for my daughter's first birthday. I figured that we could have fun with it anyway. I couldn't have been more right. From the moment she saw it, she only wanted to play on the horse. Initially it started with me putting her on the horse and helping her rock, however within a few months she was climbing up and down and rocking on her own. I am not sure if her climbing skills were accelerated due to the horse, but she sure is more daring than many of her similarly aged friends.

This is a well made product. Great design. Good materials. No sharp edges. Well worth the money. My daughter loves it. It is strong enough that I sit on it from time to time (150 lbs). Easy to assemble. We got it for our daughter when she was 1 1/2 years old and put a pillow under it so she could climb up on it. She really loves it. Lots of smiles and giggles.

Purchased this as a Christmas Gift for my grandson. It arrived in perfect condition and was easy to assemble (all parts included). What a beautiful rocking horse! My only suggestion is to wait till the child is at least 1 1/2- 2 years old to purchase. My grandson was only just 1 year and too small to enjoy right away. Thanks to Amazon.com for a terrific price and great value.

The rocking horse just arrived two days ago and I am very happy with this purchase! It looks as beautiful as on the pictures. Putting it together was not very hard either...it took me about 20 mins and it appears to be very solid. I am sure my son will have fun with it for quite some time!
Overall I recommend it to everyone who is looking for high quality for a reasonable price!

THIS ROCKING HORSE IS VERY STURDY! YOU MUST USE AN ELECTRIC DRILL WITH AN ALAN WRENCH BIT TO PUT THE SCREWS IN ~ I NEVER COULD HAVE DONE IT BY HAND. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL HORSE!! NICE AND TALL SO THAT SHE CAN GROW WITH IT. MY DAUGHTER IS TWO BUT VERY TALL FOR HER AGE - IT IS PERFECT! BOUGHT A RED FELT COWBOY HAT TO GO WITH IT!

Cute rocking horse, really difficult to assemble. The pre-drilled holes aren't threaded, and the allen wrench kept stripping the screws. Fortunately there are a lot of screws holding the horse together, so one or two bad screws isn't a deal-breaker. However, I really wish the manufacturer had used Phillips-head so I could have used my drill to assemble...it would have been SO much easier. If I were to do it all over again, I would have purchased my own wood-screws. Once assembled though, it looks great and held my adult weight without a creak or a groan. Very sturdy!

The item is misrepresented. I just went on kidcraft web site and there is no wool mentioned there. They do say it's acrylic yarn. So for those of you who found it refreshing to see that a natural wool yarn is used for the maine and the tail are in for a disappointment.

We bought this toy for our grandsons. It was very easy to assemble and seems to be very sturdy. The hand hold that slides through the neck is a little wobbly, but I don't think it can come out. The only thing that I would change is to put a small stop of some kind on the rear end to keep the kids from sliding off. It hasn't happened yet, but we watch them pretty close.

Bought this for my one and a half year old son. He loves it and rides it every day. His is pretty short and I wondered if he would be able to get on the horse by himself but he does it just fine (after a couple days of practice!) Made of solid wood, this rocking horse is very durable. My five year old also likes it and loves to rock with his little brother. Easy to put together, as well.

I bought this rocking horse for my 20 month niece because she has so many toys requiring batteries I wanted to get her something that would keep her more physically active. The Cherry color is a beautiful finish and the build quality is nice and sturdy. It took me about 40 minutes to assemble. My niece absolutely loves climbing on it and has the biggest smile when she does. Since she's a bit on the smaller size she needs to be supervised but I am sure she will continue to enjoy it for many years down the road.
