My husband chose this as a xmas present for our 16 month old daughter. Although I'm not elated about the fact that it's a pounding toy and therefore rather loud, she really does enjoy it. She loves to use the hammer, or even her hands to push the balls through the holes and she can pick them up and put them back by herself so it can keep her entertained for a while. It's a simple, basic toy and a nice change from the electronic toys of this day and age (although we have plenty of those, too). My only complaint is that the balls sometimes fall right through the holes without having to be pounded because they are just a tiny bit too small for the holes depending on how you set them in. We have not had any trouble with the balls being put in our daughter's mouth (they are way too big for that) and she hasn't tried putting the hammer in her mouth, either, but I could see a younger infant trying to do so, which I'm sure is why it's recommended for 13 months and up. I'm sure not every kid will be interested in this, but our little girl loves it!

Product was broken upon arrival :( Very dissapointed. Will not order another or recommend to anyone else. My child was sad he couldn't play with it.

it's hard, good paint, no roughness, no damages, no defects. The only concern, the holes. Two of them holds balls properly, but one is loose and the ball falls down at the moment you put it over the hole.

Hammer fell apart on day 1 and the wooden balls would fall right through with out being touched. Terrible product.
