4.0 out of 5 stars Nice quality
This chest looks nice, is good quality (appears to be all solid wood from what I can tell), and is sturdy. I'm not sure if adults should sit on it on a regular basis but I think it could accomodate just about any child. It was also relatively easy to put together (only took me about half an hour WITH my 19 month old son trying to help). It looks great in our entry way...

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM THROUGH BABY AGE!!!, January 12, 2011

This review is from: KidKraft Queen Anne Toy Chest - Cherry (Toy)
My mother called me to ask if I would like this for my daughter. She explained what it looked like and read me the dimensions. Based on her description, I said the item sounded nice.

However, when the storage box arrived and we put it together, the dimensions were, as many others have stated, for the outside, not the inside. It also states the box can be used for seating, which is true, but only for your small child. We thought we would be able to put this in our living room as an extra seat, which definitely is not the case. In addition, for an $80 price, I could have gone to a real furniture store and bought something much nicer.

Upon realizing these things, we called the company it was purchased through, Baby Age, and they said since we were having "buyer's remorse" and nothing was wrong with the product, we could return it, but we had to pay shipping costs (over $50!!!). Since the product description leaves so much open for interpretation, I do not agree and feel this is false advertising. Upon stating this to Baby Age and informing them I would be sure to include my thoughts in my review, the agent hung up on me. I can assure you, I was 100% calm throughout the entire conversation, and for a "manager" to hang up on a customer, it really shows the professionalism of the Baby Age company.

Again, I will never again buy anything from Baby Age and will make sure to let all of those around me know how I feel, as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, but Disappointing, January 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: KidKraft Queen Anne Toy Chest - Cherry (Toy)
This is a very pretty toy box, but it is very shallow. We are always worried about space in our very small house, but this box is so small in terms of depth that it's actually pointless. It holds very few toys and now seems to be a giant waste of money and space. I would not recommend it. Too bad.

It was also relatively easy to put together (only took me about half an hour WITH my 19 month old son trying to help). It looks great in our entry way and is a nice place to hide toys. It is short (as the description height suggests) and could not accomodate all of a kid's toys, but it can handle most of my son's daily toys he plays with in our living room.

1.0 out of 5 stars Way smaller than I thought, December 29, 2010

This toy box looks like it is a toy box for a doll house. It is so small - it literally holds about 8 toys. The size given must include the feet and top rail bc the actual box itself is only about 6-8" high It's pretty, but a total waste of money. I am now going to go to target and just by a big crate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Toy Chest, December 30, 2008

I bought this toy box for my one year old grandson. His father put it together after Christmas and is very satisfied. It's as big as your standard size toy box and the cherry wood is beautiful and heavy. We are very satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars just another mom, December 26, 2007

This is a great product! So easy to put together! I gave this to my parents for their house and I'm now considering getting another for my own house. Does not take up too much room and yet is big enough to store toys to rid of the clutter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Product Misrepresented, January 12, 2011
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: KidKraft Queen Anne Toy Chest - Cherry (Toy)
The product description of this toy chest says it doubles as a bench for extra seating. This led me to believe it was a larger very durable toy chest. It was purchased for my living room to store toys and provide seating for adults. I was very disappointed when I put the product together and found that only a small child could sit on it. In addition, only small toys will fit in the toy chest. It is very shallow and narrow and will not fit medium-sized toys or larger or toys that are oddly shaped. I called BabyAge to return the product. Their return policy does state they will honor a return if the product is misrepresented, but they told me I was simply having buyer's remorse and they would not pay for return shipping. As a result, I am now keeping the product because the cost for me to ship it back is almost the same as the cost of the product itself. I am very disappointed with this product and feel I not only wasted money, but it is now wasting space my house when it was intended to save space. In addition, I received poor customer service from BabyAge. I was assured by Heather that her supervisor Melissa would contact me within 24-48 hours. Six days later I finally called them back as I had not received a call. After several minutes of talking with Melissa she hung up on me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Design, December 27, 2010

Would not recommend this product unless you just need an extra banch seat for the kids. Bought this item to store all of the box games the kids have. Due to the enormous hinge being placed directly in the middle of the box, attached to the lid and then down the back of the storage box, I can only put in the boxes 3 high. This leaves about 2/3's of the storage box empty. The hinge(s) should have been placed on the sides using a regular type hinge. This hinge reminds me of a tiny version of the air piston on my storm door. It is huge!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad finish, September 2, 2009

This review is from: KidKraft Queen Anne Toy Chest - Cherry (Toy)
Box was attractive enough, and was fairly easy to assembly. However, the paint/finish scraped off very easily, and I have many bare spots that were scratched off during assembly just using the tools provided.
I also had an issure with the inside dimensions. I purchased the box specifically to fit a particular item. The central hinge support takes up quite a bit of space, and I can only fit my item inside if I put it diagonal and fuss with it.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, however, the dimensions given are for the ENTIRE toy box (including the back and the bench-top), not just the storage space (which, I suppose, I should have thought of, but I was surprised when my husband and I got it assembled and the storage space was SO little!) However, the safety hinge on the lid seems to work well--though our lid won't close because there are just too many toys. I just wanted to make possible buyers aware that the actual storage space of the box is much smaller than the dimensions given. I will say that it seems to be sturdy, it's very beautiful, and the safety features are very nice, if you have so few toys in it that the lid will acutally close.
