I tend to agree with other reviewers here. I bought this item assuming it was identical to the blue "Classic" version, aside from the fact that it uses batteries rather than a cord and has no additional digital readout on the face, as the "Classic" does, and of course features a sheep rather than a bunny. Mainly I was assuming that the "Product Dimensions" as conveyed by Amazon on the details page were correct, but they are not. Both descriptions claim dimensions of 9 x 2.5 x 7.5 inches, which may be the case for the "Classic" blue, but in fact, the green "Globetrotter" is quite a bit smaller.

So, if you're looking for a portable, travel version of the clock, and/or don't want to deal with an electrical cord (and/or prefer the sheep icon to the bunny icon), and don't mind the smaller size, then "Globetrotter" is your clock.

But if you prefer a larger face that can be read from across the room, and don't mind that it plugs into an outlet, go for the "Classic." I initially bought the "Globetrotter," realized it was too small to be read from across the room, returned it, bought the "Classic" and all is well. I must credit Amazon's easy return policy for enabling me to do this with no penalty.

As for the clock itself, it does take some training to teach your child that when the bunny is asleep, the child stays in bed, and then the bunny wakes up, the child can get up. This is easier said than done, but it's not the clock's fault if it doesn't work perfectly! It's sometimes just tough to teach an excited little kid to stay in bed.

But in terms of a fun ornament for a kid's bedroom with some element of time training and/or sleep training, this clocks does the job.

I ordered this for my 2 1/2 year old, who sometimes has a hard time waking up in a good mood, and who also has started getting out of bed on her own. I thought the day/night signal and alarm clock features of this clock would be great for her.

While we haven't had a lot of success using this clock to keep her in bed, it has been fantastic to help her wake up happy on mornings where we need to get going early. Instead of being angry at mom and dad for rousing her, the fun rooster sounds make her smile, and she feels proud for waking up on her own. The alarm lasts for about 10 seconds or so, and shuts off by itself, which is nice. The graphics are also very cute and easy for young kids to understand.

The main drawback of this clock is that it's not particularly easy to set the correct time/alarm time, but it *is* very easy for a toddler to start pushing the 2 time-setting buttons on the back to mess the whole thing up. I would have preferred to see a toggle switch with "lock", "time set" and "alarm set" features, and a way to make sure you can really keep it locked so that little fingers aren't changing the alarm time!

We bought this for our 3 year old because she was getting up before the sun and wanting to stay up. It has worked fantastic for her. Although it is smaller than we thought it was going to be, it is bright enough for her to know when it is time to get up. She has even slept LONGER that the time we have it set for...that had never really happened before. We would suggest this product for any child that likes to beat the sun awake in the mornings!

I would give this review only one star, but I'm leaving open the possibility that someone else could actually get it to work. The clock only has two buttons to set the time and the alarm. However, it will occassionally show army time as well and was so confusing, it was impossible to know what you were setting. The directions were simple enough, but to actually get the time and alarm set, was impossible. My children were up playing at two in the morning some nights and four in the morning other nights because the 'day sheep' was on. Amazon was wonderful as always and gave us a full refund as I could not find a phone number associated with the company.

The globetrotter is a cool way to help kids understand time before they can actually tell time. The design is simple, if the lamb is sleeping then you should be in bed. If it's up then you can get up. What I'm not crazy about is that you have to reset this each night. The sleeping lamb doesn't light up at a designated time, but instead needs to be reset. Also for the price I expected something more substantial - better quality and perhaps a little larger. So far my son just ignores it at the very early morning hours, but I'm hoping he will eventually learn to check it before getting out of bed before 5am :)

My 3 yr old's sleeping habits were right on par with an infants.....up 2-3 times a night. I was at my wits end and was about to invest $500 in a sleep consultant. I bought this clock as a last ditch effort and boy am i glad i did. after 3 nights, my son was sleeping through the night. and last night i actually set the clock for 615am to see if he would stay in bed later and VOILA!, he did!

All I can say is: IT WORKS. My daughter explained to her 3 year old son that when the "sleeping lamb" was lighted, he had to stay in bed. When the "walking lamb" we lighted, he could get up. Amazing. It really worked.
