Two Toddler Mummy,

We just purchased these after our 3 year old worked out how to open the covers by Safety 1st and Parents. This cover lasted about one minute. Seriously! By the time my husband was placing the third cover in our hallway of doors, my son had opened the first one my husband had installed. The tapered end makes this cover the easiest of all for little hands to open.

This is the most stupid product you can buy. It makes opening doors even easier. Maybe instead of selling this as a "door knob lock", it may be sold to be useful with people with arthritis. This doesn't even deserve one star.

Kid-proof not for long,

I thought this was a great product until my child turned three. All of a sudden he figured out how to snap the thing in half. Then when my second child became two years old, he figured it out immediately.

I purchased these after Safety First failing miserably in our house. I have a 4 yr old girl, a 2 yr old girl and newborn baby boy. Maybe I haven't left them alone long enough with these or they haven't been desperate enough to get through the door, but after 2 months, they have yet to open any doors or disassemble these locks. I'm thinking the size of the doorknob has a lot to do with how easily you can open doors with these. Our house has cheapy, smaller, fully rounded doorknobs, so sometimes it's hard for adults to open doors with these. But I'm willing to deal with that if I know my kids are safe.

I was trying to find similar safety door knobs like we bought a few years ago. Not being able to find the exact kind, I opted to buy these. They are difficult to use and fall off the door handle constantly. Both of mine are now in the trash.

LOVE THEM,

After our three and four year olds figured out the standard safety knobs we switched to these. We love them. We never had any pop off nor do we think they are stupid as so many other reveiwers state. To each his own. Somethings work for some people. These worked for us. Granted we have 4 girls who would rather play with their doll house then try to escape on a routine basis. We are buying more today.

Works just fine,

It was easy to put on and it's easy to remove if we ever need to take it off. It takes most adults a couple of tries to understand how it works (which isn't a bad thing in my mind) and my toddler still hasn't figured it out even though he's seen us use it over and over. Couldn't ask for more for the price and ease of use.

For the most part they do there job. Sometimes my 2 1/2 yr. old son can get these apart. They make it hard for my 67 yr. old mother to open the door. I don't have a problem with them myself. I don't regret buying them.

To easy for children,
This review is from: Kidco Door Knob Lock (White/2pk) (Baby Product)
This product is to easy for little ones to use. As others have stated it is the easiest on the market. We bought the Safety 1st and love them and now we sell them on amazon.

I was so happy when I saw this product.
A couple of weeks ago I was in my bedroom with our son when my daughter needed something, I stepped outside the door to talk to her when my 20 months old son slammed the door behind me and locked it. Since we put these on he has not been able to get to the lock. Now, I now that it's a bit tough for adults to get to the look too, but I'd rather struggle a for a year until he knows better, then have to run around the house trying to figure out how to unlock the door when he's not old enough to do it himself. |
