It's not something you can put up in a "pinch" so forget trying to install it w/ your toddler around. Have to adjust the length then "fine tune" it for a tighter fit on all 4 corners.

I bought this for my 3rd child so it's not like I'm "new" at this game. I'm returning it ... and I can't even get it to fold all the way down like it's suppose to!

I think the price of $27 is excellent for this gate, which retails much higher at other stores. The quality of the gate is excellent and it is very sturdy. We use the gate at home at the bottom of the stairs and are very happy with it. We remove the gate completely when we need to use the stairs (or climb over it).

We can remove the gate easily with one hand, and it is quick to put back in place when we need it again.

However, when we take it to visit the grandparents, it takes a few minutes to adjust the width to their doorframes. There is a little button on the top and bottom of the gate that you have to push in to adjust the width, and on our gate I have to jiggle the buttons a bit to get them to push in, which is annoying, but tolerable for the small amount we use this gate for travel.

The gate collapses very easily. The sides fold in half inwards, with a similar type of action to the rails of a pack-n-play. So the gate could be easily collapsed and put in a closet to get it out of the way if needed (and this wouldn't affect any width adjustments).

All in all, I'm very happy with this gate. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it's advertised as a travel gate, but is not so quick to adjust the width for different sized doorways.

Never had anything like this when my children were little. It's perfect for visits of my grandson. It's easy to set up, install and folds up into a small storage case when not needed. This is the perfect product!

This is a great gate. It is easy to use. Pressure mounted. And folds easily and compactly for storage or travel ( this gate comes with its own travel case)
I liked the idea of a "soft gate" so that little heads and bodies dont get hurt should they try to stand or fall against it.It is sturdy and easy to open and replace. It expands to a generous size - or if you live in an older house like I do, it fits small doorways perfectly.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. It is rather expensive compared to other gates.

This is a fantastic gate. I know other reviewers have had problems folding it, but I found it to be extremely easy. I also had it up in no time, at the bottom of my steps. I bought this gate because I live in an older house with uneven walls, and a lot of baseboards in doorways. This gate enables you to create a tight custom fit, even if the bottom of the wall is smaller than the top. This gate is around $70 everywhere else, so the $27.99 price is a steal! I'm going to order a couple more for myself, and some for baby gifts. It would help if Amazon posted a picture of the gate, but you can go to another site to see a picture.

I think this gate is getting a bad rap. We have used it for the past 4 years and find that it is secure and easy to take up and put down. No, it is not easy to adjust to different sized doors and if you are using to travel and put up and take down with multiple sizes I agree that it is not perfect. But is is stable, secure and easy to use once sized for the door that is needed. I am buying two more of these for around the house.

I agree with the other reviewers who said this is not a great travel gate. It does not fold up quickly or easily. You have to have some practice to know how to fold it up quickly. On the other hand, it makes a great, soft gate to keep across doorways where you want children or pets to stay in or out of. I keep this gate in the hallway and put it up across our nursery doorway when it's naptime so I can keep our dog out but allow the nursery door to stay slightly open. I also use it to keep my toddler in his child-proofed room when I shower or at night when he gets out of bed to keep him from wandering around the house. For these purposes, the gate is fantastic.

This gate is just aweful! It's hard to adjust and set up. Like another review mentioned, you can't even fold it back like it should, so you can put it back in the case. Unfortunetly, it was a baby shower gift and my son just started crawling and I just got it out and my husband threw out the box. Don't bother and get yourself something better!
