4.0 out of 5 stars does its job, kind of a pain though
if you want to use this cabinet a lot, its a pain, but it does work to keep my kid out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well but doesn't last
We bought three of these to keep my 18 month old out of kitchen and bathroom cabinets. At first they were tough to get on and off but it seems to get easier over time. 4 months later and my daughter has managed to break one just by yanking on it. A small piece of plastic used in the ratcheting mechanism broke off. It makes me question the durability and reliability...

It's a shame because I would have given these 4 or 5 stars instead.

This lock gives piece of mind. It's easy for adults to use and almost impossible for kids to open. It's sturdy and doesn't require drilling into any cabinetry. I started out with four and ordered more to have all over the house.

Bought these the other day at a local store and can't rave about them enough. Went online to buy more as they are absolutely fantastic. Keeps our 1 year old crawler/toddler out of the cabinets. Easy to remove with one hand if you position the lock on the top, squeeze it between thumb and middle finger meanwhile using index finger of same hand to slide lock open. Love them in the kitchen and in the bathroom. Do note that they are only for cupboard doors where the handles are sufficiently close to one another. Definitely recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tricky to Use, but effective, August 23, 2008

You won't have to worry about your kids figuring out how to use these; they are a pain! It took my husband using a hammer to finally get the lock off the cabinet doors! I don't recommend using these on doors that you use frequently; however, it may be a good idea to put these on cabients that store chemicals, cleaners and such. They do the job!

This cabinet lock is great for use with cabinet doors. It is easy to use and effective. I prefer this one with the open top over the completly encircled type, we have both types.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm, December 19, 2011

I purchased three of these to put around my apartment - one in the kitchen and one in each bathroom. They have worked like a charm. My son is fairly strong for his age (he is currently 22 months) and pulls with all of his might but they stand up against him. I ordered two more to put on two dvd cabinets in my living room. He has literally rocked the cabinet back and forth pulling on the lock; however, the lock still stood strong!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for using with Travel Trailer/RV's, September 18, 2011
This review is from: Kidco Sliding Cabinet Lock White (Health and Beauty)
We have mirror/doors for closets and china cabinet, and we were traveling home and found that they had came open during travel and broke a door off the hinges, but didn't break the mirror luckily. So, I was searching tips/hints for traveling with travel trailers/Rv's and found someone who used these during travel. These were the best
investment we made, we have had doors pop open but this holds them so they aren't swinging and breaking off hinge.

2.0 out of 5 stars Keeps adults out too!, September 8, 2011

I'm not liking these. They are difficult for me to remove once they are in place. Also, since the plastic has a big gap versus being one continuous circle/oval, a good yank can take these off the door knobs. I bought some other ones from a different company that are continuous ovals and easy for me to use! I'd recommend something other than these for your own sanity. We need as much of that as we can get after a long day and just wanting to open the stinkin' door to the trash can! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars My FAVE cabinet lock!!, August 17, 2011
This review is from: Kidco Sliding Cabinet Lock White (Health and Beauty)
We have bought & used many different kinds of cabinet locks but this one is our favorite. It is easy to put on and easy to take off, and it is the only one my son (now age 2) hasn't figured out how to remove. My son easily figured out the slide-and-click locks by another brand. I couldn't find the KidCo locks at Babies 'R Us the other day and was thrilled to find them on Amazon!!
