Just upgraded my older smoke alarms with the Kidde model 0918 alarms, the light is a great feature and would recommend that when repalcing your alarms that this be one of the features.

I have this four of these alarms at home and for the last 7 years they have been fine. However, one of them recently broke and they are kind of hard to replace. Overall, I have no real complaints, but I have never had a fire.
