Haven't had to use the product yet, thank goodness, but if I ever do, I'll be able to retrieve it quickly because of the handy mounting system. There's a heavy-duty L-shaped bracket that mounts to the wall (definitely find a stud, this thing is heavy), and onto which the extinguisher slides securely. The neck of the extinguisher has two grooves cut on opposite sides, with which the bracket mates securely. You can just slide the extinguisher on and off the bracket, but because the tolerance is fairly tight, it won't wiggle, and because the bracket is sturdy, it stays perpendicular to the wall, so the extinguisher won't slide off.

This is one big strong hefty fire extinquisher for a reasonable price. Kidde is good quality. But with mine, the little plastic tie that holds the pin in place broke during shipping, so the pin fell out, and the jostling during shipping caused the unit to slowly de-pressurize. Fortunately, 99% of the 10 lbs of dry chemical agent stayed in the tank; just a little bit of dust came out. So I took the unit to my local fire extinguisher servicer place and they re-pressurized it for only $7.50. Therefore, I didn't feel any need to bother with returning it to Amazon. I can only guess why the plastic tie broke off: maybe tied too tight, or just normal jostling while shipping. The unit seemed to be packaged properly and was not damaged in any way. Since being re-pressurized, it seems fine.

I love this fire extinguisher. I have it in my bedroom in case I need to use it to get to another part of the house during a fire. It is rated for A, B, and C class fires. It is dry chemical so if you use it there will be some clean-up, but if you really need to use it I think a little clean up from the extinguisher would be the least of your problems.

Ours was received after having been shot in the box, which meant a nice powder residue everywhere. I am unsure why it was not shipped with the pin in it.

Have not used yet and hope I will never use them but if the need arises they are here. Arrived on time, in good shape. Preliminary inspection showed them to be ready to go if need be. Best price I have found on fire extinguishers of this type.

Buyer beware. I purchased 3 units. They came very poorly boxed together in a large carton. Upon opening I found that one of the units had gone off sometime during shipping. Since Amazon has a no return policy on fire extinguishers, I was stuck with the discharged and useless extinguisher.

Got this extinguisher for my EBOMY's (Eternal Bride Of Many Years) studio. It filled the city ordinance's requirement for fire protection for her small business. Have never had to use it and hope we never do.

While there is no way to rate the effectiveness of this item until an emergency arises and you have to use it, I have no doubt that it will be great and perform flawlessly if needed. Another purchase from Amazon.com that I am completely satisfied with. Shipping was fast and efficient, and the fire extinguisher was from a reputable company (as is always the case with Amazon). Another satisfied purchase.

During the process of remodeling, we had a plugin in my daughters bedroom ...melt while using a space heater....didn't throw the breaker. We were very lucky it did not cause a fire but just melted the wire going to the plug. I've since had a electrian check the other outlets. The problem was caused by another contractor. Anyway.... these are very heavy, contains a large charge and in the event you need on it's there. I purchased three one I keep in the central foyer on the second floor, one on the first level in the pantry (the only ones in the house before were 1lb units under the kitchen sink. and the third in the basement outside the laundry room. These came quickly and were well packed

Arrived promptly well packed and in good shape. Exactly as described and should provide powerful fire fighting capability if it is ever needed. Won't know if it really works until something bad happens, so hope it doesn't get tested for a long time.
