CO Alarm Utilizes Advanced Technology to Detect CO Levels
The Kidde KN-COB-B battery-operated carbon monoxide alarm utilizes sophisticated electronic components to protect you and your family from the dangers of carbon monoxide. Suitable for all living spaces and featuring a seven-year life, this alarm includes a snap-on cover that gives immediate access to the batteries for fast changes. Also that the battery lockout system makes it difficult to close the cover without the batteries being installed correctly, giving you peace of mind that the unit is working properly.

Flashing LEDs and Alarm
The KN-COB-B provides continual monitoring of CO levels in your home. Its green LED will flash every 30 seconds to show that it's functioning properly. Should it detect elevated CO levels, its red LED will pulse, and a clearly audible alarm pattern will sound until the device is reset or the CO is eliminated. In addition, a test/reset button allows you to test that the alarm is functioning properly.

Ionization Sensor Technology
Powered by a 9-volt battery, the i9060 is a stand-alone smoke alarm with an ionization sensor. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with fast flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible fire particles (associated with slow smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help insure maximum detection of the various types of fires that can occur within the home.

The i9060 also offers the convenience of a hush feature that temporarily silences nuisance alarms--a great feature for kitchen alarms.

These Kidde alarms are both UL-listed. The KN-COB-B Alarm backed by a five-year limited warranty, and the i9060 Smoke Alarm is backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

Note: You get 1 smoke detector and 1 CO detector in the pack. I read the description as each unit does both. (I didn't read closely!) But Kidde makes good detectors and this is still a very good deal.

CO2 Review

This is one of those items you assume works because it doesn't go off and sounds when tested.

The unit was still on the original batteries which, after testing, showed were still well charged but switched the out just in case. No change, still getting the dreaded 30 second beep after initial power-up which the label clearly states "After seven years from initial power up, this unit will 'chirp' every 30 seconds to indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. REPLACE IMMEDIATELY! IT WILL NOT DETECT CO IN THIS CONDITION!"

If this trend keeps up we will buying a unit every 15 months which is no where near the SEVEN years indicated on the label.

Kidde we would happily pay a few dollars extra for a unit from a country of origin where quality still reigns.

Mine could be a dud, but I've had this smoke detector for a couple of months ago and I've noticed that it seems super sensitive. I can't heat my oven above 400 degrees without it going off (and yes, my oven is clean). I need to take it down and move it into the other room whenever I cook. I guess the bright side is I know it works.
