5.0 out of 5 stars 5 years later - and still zoomin'
October 2002: My 2 1/2 year old son received this bike last year for Christmas. It has definately been the best purchase that we have ever made. This bike zooms around the neighberhood/yard daily. It is a neighborhood favorite. Everyone wants to ride it. The seat adjusts to 3 positions, a must for a growing child. The wheels are big with wonderful rubber tread...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as smooth as the Supertrike 1
My almost 3 yo son tried this and he didn't like it as much as the Supertrike 1 and 2. This one is heavier and is made for older toddlers because they have stronger leg muscles. If you are looking for an easy smooth ride, a trike that your child will want to use everyday go for Supertrike 1. This looks good and the tires are cooler but not as smooth as the Supertrike 1...

The wheels are big with wonderful rubber tread. This bike does not tip over (unless your child really works hard at it). It takes lots of sharp turns. It workes wonders in "4-wheel drive" as it zooms over dirt surfaces.

The only thing that we did not like about this bike was that it did not have a bell. We solved this problem by finding a very nice bell by Fisher-Price that clamps on the handle bars. It even matches the same color scheme.

If you are concidering purchasing a small training wheel bike over this trike, DO NOT. My boy was given a training wheel bike 6 months later from grandparents, and he seldom rides it. This trike is his favorite, and he is now 3 1/2. Save the big bikes for later!

Bottom line: It is fun, fast, tuff, and doesn't tip. Just what a young child (and parent) loves.

Update 2006: This bike still looks like it did when we purchased it in 2001. Nothing has broken, the paint has not faded - even after being left out in the sun/rain continuously, no rust, nothing! It is now being used by my 3rd child and runs as great as ever (my 2 1/2 year old that is now age 7 even hops on it once in a while). WE LOVE IT!

Our son learned to ride and pedal on this at about 30 months. He adores it! The thick and wide-placed wheels on the back make it possible for him to ride over grass, the woodchips at the park, anywhere he wants (which can be a bad thing with a two year old, in all honesty, LOL). The earlier models of this trike are owned by various friends, and all of them (the trikes, not the friends) suffered from the same problem - the connection between the frame and the handlebars became loose, so the handlebars would twist wildly while whenever a child tried to steer. NOT SO with this one! The handlebars and frame are designed differently, so that hasn't happened in the year that we've had ours.

I have actually ridden this bike a few times myself (to show our son how to pedal), and it really is very comfortable. It sure beats the skidding of plastic wheels or the cut-up achilles tendon effect of the metal trike I had when I was little!

This trike was purchased for my son on his 2nd christmas (which was just a week after his birthday. He had trouble at first because of this being his first bike/trike, but after a few days they were unseparable. The adjustable seat and wide tires makes it both easy to ride and safe. I also loved the durable design....which makes this trike a gift that will give him years of enjoyment. I highly suggest this for any toddler, and give a word of advice to (...) customers," You get what you pay for, don't be fooled by the cheap trikes, get a gift for your son/daughter/nephew, etc. that will be as strong as it is fun for them.

My 2 1/2 year old child got this for Christmas and loves it. He rides it everyday-inside and out. He is your typical boy and it seems to holding up well. The wide tires seem to keep him well balanced and does not tip over as easily as your regular tricycle. We put a bike horn on the handle bars for more added fun for him. The seat with the back makes it easier for him to peddal since he has something to push against. His cousins enjoy it just as much when they come to visit.

At first we bought a cheap ...tricycle... When we saw how difficult it was to peddle & how bad the balance was we regreted our purchase. When it started to come apart, we returned it to the store.
After doing a little research, I purchased this Supertrike 3...
Our 3 year old son absolutely loves it!
It rides beautifully, is sturdy & looks great!! It wipes anything else in its price range...

This is the second tricycle that I have bought so that my two nephews will no longer fight about who gets to ride. The construction is very sturdy and durable. The handle bars are strong and directly attached to the wheel making it unlikely to move unlike other tricycle handles which are just bolted on to the mainframe.
The bucket seat allows the child to push with their backs and legs to pedal with more ease than a regular up-down motion that many 2-3 year olds cannot do. The wider wheel base as well a wider frame at the back 2 wheels provide a stronger center of gravity making this tricycle less likely to tip over with sharp turns. As a medical professional who deals with the pediatric population, I would highly recommend this tricycle for all first timers.

The Blue Basket for Kettrikes that is soild as an accessory does not fit the Supertrike III. I am very dissapointed! Why is the basket listed as an accessory??

I drove to toysRus to see one and they did not have any. So I ordered it and it arrived on time. I took this to Russia for a friend's little girl. I was so happy it made it undamaged and passed through customs without a problem. It is well made and assembled easily. The little girl is 4 years old and about 40in tall and she fit fine with the seat not all the way back. I would say she could grow to 50in and still be able to ride. Because I had read a review that said an adult rode it. I climbed on and rode around. It did not seem to flex at all with 150lbs on it. I would not say thats a good idea, but I looked like the guy from Rowan and Martin's laugh in on it. Very nice trike...It is better designed with the high handle bars and the big plastic tires grip well and seemed very stable. If you are reading the reviews, which is what made me buy it...I would buy it, you will not be disapointed.

I love this bike! I had purchased the Radio Flyer trike for my very tall 3 year old because he seemed too big for all the other Kettler type trikes out there. Although he fit on it very well, it was very difficult for him to learn to pedal. I noticed that the handlebars were different on the Kiddi-o Supertrike 3 from other similar tricycles. We tried it out and he fit even with the seat in the closest position. His knees didn't hit the handlebars! Best of all, he loves it and is riding all over the place. This is a great bike for children who are not ready for a two wheeler but are big for most tricycles.
