Our 15 month old son just loves this toy. He loves pushin all of the buttons and dancing to the music. He does not know how to open the compartment yet but he loves to have it open to explore. It is a great start to pretend play but also encourages a bit longer independent play for his age. He is a real busy body buthe does stop for an extra minute to play with this toy. All the kiddieland toys seem to grab his attention. Well built too!

Great quality... loved all the sounds it made even if the postman was freaked out a little. Shipped fast and arrived in pristine condition. Very happy with it!!

I had hoped that my 2 year old son, who loves Fisher Price Little People and playing out little scenes, would enjoy this toy. He plays with it occasionally, but it just isn't that much fun. I have two significant complaints:The only thing to DO with this ship is make it make noise. It plays songs and has other random noises, depending on what you press. The noises can't be turned off (unless you remove the batteries). The volume can't be adjusted. It is really annoying for the parents after about 30 seconds. The one thing I had hoped my son would do with it was play with the 2 pirates, the monkey, and the bird, and have them walk around the ship and play inside the ship in the different rooms. But the characters are much too large to fit into any space on the ship, except for the designated (noise-making) seats designed for each character. The little pirates are too big to fit in the galley kitchen and are too tall and wide to fit up any of the stairs. It is a ridiculous design! My toddler has tried to use his tiniest little person (a WOW character), and he is still to big.

I bought this pirate ship for my 2 year old grandson. Not only did he love it, but so did his 3 older brothers (up to age 6). They have all been playing with it for a week now and it hasn't been destroyed yet, which says a lot for a new toy shared by 4 little boys.
