5.0 out of 5 stars Great for bigger babies, not for newborns
I ordered the piddle pad a week before the birth of my third baby. I wanted to put it in his car seat to avoid the poop blow outs (caused by breast milk) all over his car seat. With my other two kids I was always cleaning their car seats when they were first born. Here is the only problem I found with the product. It doesn't fit into the infant carrier when it is set for...

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not work in an infant car seat.
This product is a good idea but it does not in any way fit in an infant car seat. The back comes up way too high--it was above the shoulder straps. And look at the picture on the package-where ARE the shoulder straps?? Unless you have an older baby in a large car seat, this thing is just too big. With the 5-point harness, the sides of the pad get in the way and have...

I ordered the piddle pad a week before the birth of my third baby. I wanted to put it in his car seat to avoid the poop blow outs (caused by breast milk) all over his car seat. With my other two kids I was always cleaning their car seats when they were first born. Here is the only problem I found with the product. It doesn't fit into the infant carrier when it is set for a brand new baby. It was too big, no matter what I did it would not work. Not wanted to return a product I was sure would come in handy I moved it to my 20 month old's car seat and it worked and fit great. As a matter of fact after two weeks worth of use it finally got a chance to prove itself when it saved my son's car seat from the milk shake treat my husband had given him. It absorbed the drink and saved the seat. Easy clean up,For once I didn't have to disasemble the car seat so I could wash it. Great product for bigger babies and toddlers, ect....But not for newborns.

5.0 out of 5 stars No More Messes, February 8, 2006

We got this item as a gift and even before opening the package, I thought "FINALLY!!!". We've had a few leaks on long raod trips and the PiddlePad is fantastic. Now it's just one little easily washable insert to throw in the wash, instead of trying to wrestle apart the car seat to take the cover off to wash it. And then you have to try and get it all back together again. Ever seen a second-hand car seat at a consignment store or garage sale??? Now you know why they're so filthy! No one bothers to pull them apart to clen them. We can't rave enough about the PiddlePad!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Love Love It!!!, February 10, 2006
This review is from: PiddlePad Waterproof Seat Liner (Baby Product)
It takes 3 seconds to make sure the piddle pad is going to be under your child before putting them in, oppose to an hour to wash the whole car seat. Remember on vacations it is sometimes not easy to wash your childs car seat. Do you really want them sitting in a messy seat? It is perfect for car rides, airplane rides ( when its not that easy to change a diaper ), and in the stroller. I am pregnant with the second and already have them in the mail and on their way to me. I recommend them to everyone!!!

And look at the picture on the package-where ARE the shoulder straps?? Unless you have an older baby in a large car seat, this thing is just too big. With the 5-point harness, the sides of the pad get in the way and have to be folded over your baby's legs. I've had to wash my infant car seat carrier twice already so I would love seat liner that worked but this wasn't it. They should make it in different sizes.

1.0 out of 5 stars lacking, May 25, 2009
This review is from: PiddlePad Waterproof Seat Liner (Baby Product)
I thought I would save some time when preparing for my second child by just buying this product instead of sewing more of the seat-liners I made for my daughter. BIG MISTAKE!!!

The coverage on this thing is abysmal! It is quilted with polyester batting. Polyester is NOT absorbent! The knit-terry (like baby wash cloths) on the next-to-bottom side IS probably around 80% cotton. So that is somewhat absorbent, but that is all you've got for absorbency! 80% of a super thin knit-terry.

I ended up cutting this seat liner up to see what it is made of, and then sewing more of my own design (much better coverage!)using ProCare as a barrier and 3 layers of super-soft, 100% cotton quilter's flannel.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not bother with this, February 14, 2007
This review is from: PiddlePad Waterproof Seat Liner (Baby Product)
I bought two for my kids' seats. They constantly bunch up and slip around. Now I have to lose money in shipping to send them back for a refund.

Don't bother with these. Just fold up a towel. It will be cheaper and just as convenient as these things.

5.0 out of 5 stars Did the job, December 22, 2008
This review is from: PiddlePad Waterproof Seat Liner (Baby Product)
I am potty training twins, and although I only put this into action ONCE... It saved the day. My daughter had an accident in the car, and not ONE drop made it to the seat below. Throwing this pad in the wash verses pulling the car seat out, dissasembling, and removing all padding, washing, etc., is a no brainer, and worth the cost. :)

After washing the seat cover several times, we found the piddle pad at a local retailer. It was awkward to place directly on top of the seat, so I put it under the seat cover.

We had a recent accident, and the piddle pad caught everything, and saved my car's upholstery.

I just ordered 3 more to cover our second child and another set of car seats. The cost is covered with the first accident -- no more cleaning the upholstery!

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent product, October 9, 2008
This review is from: PiddlePad Waterproof Seat Liner (Baby Product)
The piddle pad seems to be the best on the market, however I wish that it had holes for the belts to go through on the sides. Velcro, or something to hold it in place would be good too, but it does protect the carseat cover from accidents and spills.

Yes this does soak up any diaper leaks or potty training problems BUT the problem with this is that there is no way to secure it to the car seat. It moves around with your wiggling child and can be very hard to position once your child is sitting on top of it. Honestly, it drove us nuts trying to use it and finally we pitched it because it just took too much effort to keep it in the right spot to make if effective leak control.
