5.0 out of 5 stars WAY Better than the other piddle pads!
We have two of the original Kiddopotamus PiddlePads and I thought they were the greatest things ever! These are so much better with the design improvements. The hole fits over the buckle on the carrier/booster seats which helps anchor it in place and the flap that semi-covers the buckle strap aides in keeping crumbs, etc. from falling down in the crevices of the buckle...

The shape and general design is excellent -- fits well in our infant carseat, and it also fits nicely in her little bouncer seat, around the harness/straps (we had a surprise diaper blowout in the bouncer, so I tried this the next time we used it).

My only beef with it is that if you live in a warm climate, as we do, the fleece-like material that sits against your baby's back and bottom -- along with the waterproof backing -- has an insulating effect and traps body heat, thus causing your little one to turn into a little sweatball. Even in an air-conditioned vehicle, my baby practically roasts with this pad in place. If a more breathable material were available, I'd give it a 5-star rating, but the overheating factor is definitely an issue for us.

5.0 out of 5 stars WAY Better than the other piddle pads!, February 19, 2009

We have two of the original Kiddopotamus PiddlePads and I thought they were the greatest things ever! These are so much better with the design improvements. The hole fits over the buckle on the carrier/booster seats which helps anchor it in place and the flap that semi-covers the buckle strap aides in keeping crumbs, etc. from falling down in the crevices of the buckle hole. The fitted fold design helps it fit and mold better and they really do hold a lot! Our now 2.5 year old is into training pants and they don't hold nearly as well (or as much) as a standard diaper does, so when she has a blow out these really help out a lot. With our second one on the way, we went ahead and ordered more. Its a great idea to keep one extra for every carrier/booster seat in the vehicle (or stroller) just in case you really don't like taking apart car seats to wash them all the time.
We have two of the older style PiddlePads and they don't stay in place nearly as well, although they are much better than nothing. These new ones also seem to be a little thinner which should be a little nicer in the summer months too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!, June 27, 2009
This review is from: Kiddopotamus Deluxe PiddlePad (Baby Product)
I take long car trips every month and have found this pad to be a lifesaver! On occasion, my 2 year old son will spill his juice or wet through his diaper. All I have to do at that point is change my son, take the pad off the seat, and put another pad on the seat. Much easier than dealing with a wet seat! I have 4 pads total, 2 for each car seat, for my two sons. These pads hold the liquid or wetness in them, and allow the carseat to stay completely dry. When I get home, I wash the soiled pad in the washer and let it drip dry. So easy! Well worth the purchase!

Okay, so this is one kid product that I couldn't live without! This is a pee pad for car seats. I have one in each car seat. These were livesavers when my daughter was in the early potty-training stage. They will soak up a normal pee and keep it from getting on the car seat. We did have a few "floods" that were too much for the pad to hold, but that was not the fault of the pad. For all those times I could pull it out and wash it and not the carseat cover it was a great thing! This is a product I tell all my mom friends about when they are potty training. Even though we are 100% potty trained I still keep them in the car seat because you never know when an accident can happen and I don't have time to be pulling the car seat apart to wash the cover.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit our carseat..., March 3, 2012

We got this for our Chicco Keyfit car seat, but it didn't fit. If we ever had a sippy cup or diaper overflow, we just threw the car seat cover in the wash. It needs a regular wash anyway.

Started potty training my 2 year old in July and after having to remove the car seat cover after an "accident" I knew I had to find something else. I read all the reviews on all the seat protectors and these seemed the best for ease of use, design, absorption, cleaning, and price. They have not disappointed. They are very easy to set into the seat, come up nicely in the back, are very easy to remove, and wash up beautifully. Only once in the past 4 months has an accident gotten through them and onto the car seat.

One design change I wish they would make is to have neoprene surrounding the hole for the buckle to come through. They do provide coverage for the buckle strap with the piddle pad covering, but there are few spaces that leaks can get through on the side and back of the hole that a neoprene enclosure might help prevent.

Other than that I think it works very well for the price tag it carries. If you have 2 cars I recommend buying 2 packages -- one pad for each car and one for a back-up for each car when they need to be washed!

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WATERPROOF - Pointless, August 22, 2011
This review is from: Kiddopotamus Deluxe PiddlePad (Baby Product)
i bought this pad in hopes that if my son, who is potty training has an accident in the car, it wouldnt create a huge mess. we all know taking apart a car seat to wash it is a pain. I was so happy when it came in. My son leaked thru his pullup and when i took him out of the carseat, the pad was wet but so was the carseat. didnt protect the seat at all. It is Definately not even close to being waterproof. What a dissapointment!!

I ordered this product as a replacement for my other piddle pad; I had the smaller one that Kiddopotamus makes and prefer this new one to the old one. It is a better quality fabric and is larger so it fits the car seat better preventing any accident overflow.

This thing is amazing! It is a must for potty training. It washes well and also does well in the dryer. It absorbs real well and is easy to put in and take out. We love it and would be still in pull-ups if it wasn't for this pad. I don't worry about accidents now and when my daughter does have an accident it is easy to take the pad out and then she still has a dry seat for the rest of the trip. I am going to purchase another one for my stroller and our other car. I currently just take the one out and put it in my stroller and it works well there too. I can't say enough good about it. It is also very soft so it don't irritate their skin. The only thing I can say even somewhat bad is that it will shift a little especially if they get into their seat by themselves like my daughter does. But that is no big deal I just have to make sure it is still under her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, saved us to many times to count!, April 20, 2012
This review is from: Kiddopotamus Deluxe PiddlePad (Baby Product)
I have been using this for the last year and have been so happy with it! Now that I am potty training a second I have decided to stock up with a few more. The original one I bought is still in like new condition despite having been washed many, many times. (I ignored the hang drying instructions (seriously who has time??? I dry this in the dryer and have had no problems) Highly recommended, the only negative I have to say about it is that occasionally it will leak right where the buckle is but I have found it you take the time to adjust the buckle tab cover as you pull the straps tight it doesn't seem to happen, you just have to remember each time. Never had it leak when it was properly placed and pulled up close to the crotch.
