From the Manufacturer

The SwaddleMe® provides the simplest way to swaddle with soft fabric wings that hug your baby close. A leg pouch pops down for quick diaper changes while leaving baby comfortably swaddled. As baby grows, wings adjust for a customized fit for your baby. Swaddling soothes infants by recreating the comforting snugness of the womb and new research shows that swaddling may help reduce the risk of SIDS by promoting better sleep when babies are on their backs. Pediatricians recommend swaddling to soothe and comfort newborns, helping them sleep better and also to help reduce colic. A percentage of each SwaddleMe® sold is donated to First Candle / SIDS Alliance to help babies survive and thrive.

Product Description

Pediatricians recommend swaddling to comfort and soothe newborns, but loose blankets are difficult to keep snug. SwaddleMe wings have Velcro tabs, to wrap up your newborn and stay comfortably in place. As baby grows, wings readjust for a perfect fit. SwaddleMe wings are easily opened to prevent overheating, and the leg pouch can be popped down for a quick diaper checking or changing. SwaddleMe can also be used in the car seat, simply insert car seat harnesses through the access slits!

5.0 out of 5 stars Swaddling simplified May 16, 2005
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
This wrap really does make it easier to swaddle your baby - moreover, it makes it harder for the swaddling to come undone, saving you time and effort. At such a reasonable price, it's worth getting two so you'll always have a clean one on hand. One thing to note about size: We have both a fleece wrap and a cotton wrap. Even though they're both the same size, the fleece wrap is a bit smaller than the cotton wrap, especially in terms of the "wings." We use the fleece wrap at the very end of the velcro tabs on my daughter now (she weighs 11 pounds), while with the cotton wrap there is still plenty of room for when she gets bigger. Lengthwise, though, they're about the same, and at 22 1/2 inches, she can now kick her legs out of the wraps if she really tries.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't fall for this cheap knockoff January 9, 2006
By Leigh
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
This product is a cheap knockoff of the Miracle Blanket, and is not worth the savings! Let me tell you why.

I bought and used this product for my newborn daughter. As soon as we brought her home, we found out that she liked to be swaddled, like most newborns. BUT this product did not swaddle her even close to tightly enough. The point of swaddling is it immobilizes their arms and hugs them snuggly. This product loosely wrapped her so her arms were flailing about inside, and eventually she worked her hands and arms out. So I wrapped her tighter with it, but then the fabric stretched way beyond the velcro. So, I had to use safety pins to keep the thing around her! Talk about freaky with those sharp pins around my baby. (This is a normal-sized baby, born at 7 1/2 lbs., and I was using the newborn size.) By the time she grew to where the velcro was getting even CLOSE to where I needed it to be, she had outgrown the thing height-wise!

So I bought a Miracle Blanket, which is over twice as expensive, and it is AWESOME. Worth every penny. This thing wraps your baby up nice and tight at any size, never any need for safety pins, and they stay wrapped up tight until you unwrap them. Plus, you don't have to buy 2 or 3 different sizes like you do with the SwaddleMe, so think about that when comparing prices.

Bottom line is, you get what you pay for. I am a firm believer in swaddling because when our daughter is swaddled, she sleeps like a rock in between feedings, and when she is not swaddled she fusses a lot at night. Every parent of a newborn should have a Miracle Blanket, and no one should waste their money on this cheap knockoff that is sure to disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars An easy way to swaddle August 10, 2005
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
This is a great product. Because I had a large baby, I was only able to swaddle my baby a few weeks with the traditional blanket wrap. This wrap easily accommodates him and does not come undone like the blanket. He sleeps better when swaddled and I do not have to worry about loose bedding covering his face should he wiggle free. I tried another brand (First Years) and the shoulder opening is too large and he was able to wiggle both arms out as soon as I laid him down. This brand is by far the best. I purchased three of them so one is always ready.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snug as a Bug in a Rug May 8, 2005
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
What will they think of next? I absolutely love this product. The lightweight, soft, 100% cotton material is a great alternative to the heavier fleece for the warmer months. The neutral green color is wonderful for both boys and girls. It is easy to use and baby stays snuggly wrapped much better than the traditional recieving blanket. Mom and Dad can rest assured that your precious little one will feel safe and secure in the "swaddle me".

5.0 out of 5 stars We couldn't sleep without it! October 8, 2005
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
This is by far the best baby item I received and it is only $10. I read Dr. Karp's book and adapted his swaddling method to help my colicky son sleep. We started using the swaddle me and the 5 s's at about 3 weeks. After about two nights, we were convinced that this is a great product. It made swaddling much easier. I am convinced that it helped my son sleep through the night at a very early stage. He started sleeping from 10-6 at 8 weeks! He's now 5 months and we weened him from the swaddle me at about 3 1/2 months, but (knock on wood) he's a still a great sleeper now. I believe the swaddle me should be on every new mother's list. I am buying them for all my friends' baby showers now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and longer sleep for baby and you! October 29, 2005
Color Name:Sage|Size Name:Small
Buy one if you don't already have one! I really can't stop singing the praises of the SwaddleMe. We received 1 SwaddleMe as a baby shower gift and within 2 days of my son's birth had to go out and get 2 more so that we always had a clean one on hand. Swaddling is so much easier and so much more secure with this, compared to a receiving blanket. At about 3 weeks our son began to kick and swirm in the SwaddleMe so we stopped using it because we thought he didn't like it anymore. Big mistake! After trial and error and talking to the pediatrician we learned his kicking and squirming was due to fussying about going to bed not the SwaddleMe. Once we resumed using it at around 6 weeks, he slept longer and better because he wouldn't wake himself up with his startling movements, which most if not all babies do at that age. Needless to say once we started using it again he was quickly sleeping 8-9 hours straight at night, about 2 hours more than he was without the SwaddleMe.

The cotton SwaddleMe is not as warm as the fleece one, so depending on the temperature outside and in the house, we use whichever one is most appropriate.
