We tried many different types of swaddle blankets (e.g. the Miracle Blanket, etc.) and the Kiddopotamus was the only one that worked right.

The Miracle Blanket definitely kept our baby swaddled, but it literally took 2 of us to get it on her correctly, and it was such an ordeal that she was very upset by the time we were finished. In contrast, the Kiddopotamus is extremely easy to work with and wraps your baby up very quickly.

My only word of advice is to buy the cotton knit instead of the flannel. We thought that the cotton knit would stretch more than the flannel (and indeed it does), but we thought this would make the cotton knit less effective (as in the baby would be able to get out more easily); however, what we found is that the stretchiness allows you to wrap it more tightly and effectively than the cotton flannel.

Also out of 3 flannel ones we bought, 2 tore holes in them very promptly. And even though the cotton knit was used probably 10 times more often than the flannel, it never tore a hole.

Our son is 17 lbs. and is almost 5 months old. The packaging says 15-22 lbs.(for the Large size) No way! I tried to attach the velcro pieces and it can only go half way around his little body and the velcro pieces can't attach. The concept is good but doesn't work. I ended up just going back to swaddling him with a large receiving blanket. If anyone knows of a better product for swaddling please comment on my review. Thanks.

This was such an indispensable item for us, when our daughter was an infant. I highly recommend you have one ready when your baby arrives :O) Great price too!

This is the best swaddling device...I wrapped my son whenever he wanted to sleep and I didn't have to deal with extra sheets or anything. He couldn't unwrap himself,so I didn't have to worry about sheets going over his face. Excellent product that I think any mom could benefit from.

These are great to have around the house for babies. Snuggle a baby in these instead of bulky blankets. So much easier to handle a baby in this.

We used the smaller size (fleece) for our newborn and I am certain it is one reason he learned to sleep through the night so young (8 weeks). We tried to wean him from it when he outgrew it, but he would flail his arms and wake himself up when we used the sleep sack. Our doctor said it was fine to continue swaddling him, so I invested in the bigger size, in this lighter fabric since it is getting warmer out. I love the flannel. It holds its shape, and it warm but not too warm. We only ended up using it for about 3 weeks before we found out by accident that he didn't need it anymore (it was in the washer, it was bedtime, so we tried the sleep sack again, which worked). Still, I am glad I bought it and would recommend it. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the center velcro flap was harder to line up than on the smaller version.

First time moms (and dads) will love this ... so E Z to use even little mommie-helpers can swaddle baby perfectly. Bought 3 and will be coming back for more.

Love this blanket for my baby. He sleeps so well with it, I had to buy a few extras. Keeps them warm, and helps them sleep longer. Without it, he'll only sleep for a hour or so at a time. But when he's bundled in - he takes 2-3 hour naps. And at night, sleeps for 6-7 hours at a time. Helps mommy sleep better too!

Great swaddle blanket - much easier/more stable than swaddling the baby with a traditional blanket. They hold up really well in the laundry & breath enough so he doesn't get sweaty. Less stretchy than the knit version, but fits the same baby. :-)
