5.0 out of 5 stars swaddlers are great!!
I have been using swaddlers for about ten years and the fleece ones are the best. They stand up the best to washing and last for more than one child I find. When baby is fussy they usually settle down after less than 15 minutes. Used as a blanket they do not fall off which is great when walking with babe. I have often had problems with a regular receiving blanket when...

This one is better than the cotton jersey version. Heftier, warmer, doesn't stretch out or shrink. However, if you have a Houdini baby like I did, he/she won't be in this thing for very long. Mine was able to escape fully in less than 5 minutes at 1 week old. Sort of defeats the purpose of swaddling.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE it! Swaddling works!!, December 27, 2009

When my twins were born I tried swaddling them in receiving blankets but they always managed to wiggle free...especially as they grew bigger. Someone gave me one of these swaddlers as a gift with this baby. AT first it seemed too big and I tried the blankets (baby was 6lbs. 2 ozs.) Again, the blankets came loose. When she was 2 weeks old, I tried the swaddler again and glad I did! She did fight having her arms down the first few nights but after that, no problems. It's easy to fasten and the velcro holds her snuggly. It seems to instantly soothe her and within minutes she is typically asleep. PLus the startle reflex doesn't wake her. In the mornings if I need a little extra sleep, I wrap her in this- it works like magic! Highly reccomend...am looking for a larger size now that she is 10 weeks old and about to mover to her own crib.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended!, November 5, 2009

This review is from: Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, Bubble Green, Small (Baby Product)
The hospital taught us how to swaddle our daughter with a receiving blanket. It wasn't too difficult. However, a friend gave us several Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe blankets and they were so simple to use! They are fast and secure, and with a wiggly newborn it was a huge help! When the weather got cold, we used it as an outer swaddle over a receiving blanket swaddle for added warmth. You can't go wrong, slide the feet in, tuck in the arms and you're all set!

It really makes the newborn baby comfortable and easy to carry without a lot of blankets.

5.0 out of 5 stars We use them every night, January 28, 2010
I can't say enough good things about these swaddle blankets. I just love them. We have six of them and use them every night.

The regular blankets never stayed swaddled and we worried about constricting baby's legs too much. But these little blankets make swaddling so easy that anyone can do it. And they stay swaddled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cant live without this!!, January 25, 2010

The hospital my 8 week old was born in gave out Halo Sleepsacks, my boy liked it so much I needed replacements. This was 1/3 the price so I thought I would give it a try. I LOVE IT! For once, the lower priced item is actually better.

I love the variety of colors. The microfleece is so soft and warm (Indiana has crappy winters) and it holds up very well going through the washer and dryer a lot. (He is a puker.) I have not tried the cotton or organic cotton types so I cant speak for them yet but I will when summer gets here.

I firmly believe that my boy sleeps better and longer when he is swaddled. He even knows when we get it out that it is sleeping time!

I highly recommend this and will get it for every shower I go to from now on. (I have already bought 4!)

2.0 out of 5 stars Probably too hot for a newborn, December 1, 2011

We bought this for our newborn, but I read later that you shouldn't swaddle them in fleece or synthetic materials because it's so easy for them to overheat. We used it once and our daughter developed a cold sweat. I would recommend sticking to cotton or bamboo fabrics and giving the fleece a pass until your baby is a little bit older.

She loved it and thanked me over and over again. She said it was a savior for her newborn and wish she had had one for all 4 of her kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-Have for Newborn, March 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, Bubble Green, Small (Baby Product)
I can't recommend this product highly enough. Swaddling helps our baby to calm easier (ala "Happiest Baby on The Block" -- if you don't know that book, look it up, it's a perfect companion gift with this wrap). The swaddle also helps her to sleep longer, and it keeps her little hands warm at night so that they're not ice blocks in the morning. I wish that we had bought two for those early days when she was spitting up so much so that I could always have one on her when I needed it, even if the other was in the laundry.

You might watch the nurse swaddle your baby with a receiving blanket and say, "why do I need something more expensive?" but you will be very, very happy to have the velcro on this. It's easy to bind up your squirming baby with the swaddle-me, and it stays put so that she won't wriggle out too soon. I love that it's easy. I love that it's effective. I love that it has landing-strips for the velcro so that it doesn't ruin all the other items in your laundry.

My only complaint is that it does not last very long. Don't count on using it for your next baby, and realize that a hand-me-down might not hold as well as a new one. My daughter used hers so much that we had to get a new one when she was only 2 months old. Totally worth it, though. I'd buy them again in a heart-beat.

Please note that this product is the microfleece, and therefore not good for summer or tropical babies. Go for a lighter material in warm climbs.
