Excellent!, January 3, 2010
This review is from: Kidkraft Silver Retro Play Kitchen (Toy)
This is a GREAT kitchen. I picked it for my boys, because it was one of the few options that wasn't pink, ordered it online (site to store ;o) sight unseen, and I am delighted with the simplicity *and* the detail. The knobs click when you turn them much like a gas stove, and the doors and drawer click shut, and perfectly store all of their accessories.
I got the Melissa and Doug cutting and pantry foods, these combined with a few plastic pieces we had around the house are more than enough to keep my kids entertained. I wanted the IKEA stainless pots, but since they don't ship I ended up taking it in the wallet for some Pottery Barn Kids pots and pans (ouch) (*addition* the PBK sauce pan broke! after only a couple of days of use! ARGH!). This kitchen is very much like the 600+ set PBK sells, in its smooth retro quality, my guess is that the big difference is that it will take you at least an hour to put it together (I didn't believe it, but yep to be safe, please set aside 2 hours to put this puppy together- it's worth it though).
The only other thing I'll say is that I paid a lot less (ninety-nine) for this a few weeks ago ;o) you may want to keep an eye out... but I think that this is definitely the best pick, much better than those pricey hokey plastic kitchens.

This is a fantastic little kitchen. The silver is nice and modern. My only complaint is that there isn't a little fridge in the same finish (like the pink one). It was easy to assemble and the quality is very good. My 16 month old loves to turn the knobs and open the doors, I look forward to this toy growing with her.

Great kitchen. Has a lower profile than a lot of the the other KidKraft kitchens which is perfect for our small house. We did need a few replacement pieces but KidKraft was great about sending the pieces. I recommend contacting KidKraft directly as opposed to contacting the seller from which the product was purchased.
