5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, January 3, 2010
This review is from: Kidkraft Silver Retro Play Kitchen (Toy)
This is a GREAT kitchen. I picked it for my boys, because it was one of the few options that wasn't pink, ordered it online (site to store ;o) sight unseen, and I am delighted with the simplicity *and* the detail. The knobs click when you turn them much like a gas stove, and the doors and drawer click shut, and perfectly store all of their accessories.
I got the Melissa and Doug cutting and pantry foods, these combined with a few plastic pieces we had around the house are more than enough to keep my kids entertained. I wanted the IKEA stainless pots, but since they don't ship I ended up taking it in the wallet for some Pottery Barn Kids pots and pans (ouch) (*addition* the PBK sauce pan broke! after only a couple of days of use! ARGH!). This kitchen is very much like the 600+ set PBK sells, in its smooth retro quality, my guess is that the big difference is that it will take you at least an hour to put it together (I didn't believe it, but yep to be safe, please set aside 2 hours to put this puppy together- it's worth it though).
The only other thing I'll say is that I paid a lot less (ninety-nine) for this a few weeks ago ;o) you may want to keep an eye out... but I think that this is definitely the best pick, much better than those pricey hokey plastic kitchens.

This is a fantastic little kitchen. The silver is nice and modern. My only complaint is that there isn't a little fridge in the same finish (like the pink one). It was easy to assemble and the quality is very good. My 16 month old loves to turn the knobs and open the doors, I look forward to this toy growing with her.

Great kitchen. Has a lower profile than a lot of the the other KidKraft kitchens which is perfect for our small house. We did need a few replacement pieces but KidKraft was great about sending the pieces. I recommend contacting KidKraft directly as opposed to contacting the seller from which the product was purchased.

I bought this for my 2 year old son, who really liked playing with kitchens at other kids houses. It's nice because it's not too "girly", seems sturdy (he's climbed on top of it a few times), and doesn't take up a ton of space. I put it together by myself, but could have used an extra hand a time or two. Overall, I'm very happy with the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Study and looks great in kitchen, September 7, 2010

Our two year old is thrilled with her kitchen! I spent a long time researching and looking for the right kitchen for us... small, but will "fit" our child for several years, wooden, and something that would blend in and look nice in our kitchen. I was nervous about buying online without seeing it first, but have not been at all disappointed. It is a very sturdy and well made kitchen set- all "real" wood (heavy, not flimsy) with all edges completely finished. I was able to put it together by myself in a little over an hour. It looks great in our kitchen and feels like a real piece of furniture. Our daughter loves all the knobs that turn. The oven, drawer and "dishwasher" are big enough to store much of her kitchen "gear". My only complaint is the sink comes out easily and my daughter loves taking it out and dropping things into the dishwasher through this opening. The good news is it is just as easy to put back in. I wish we had a little more space and could add a refrigerator. Even though the kitchen does not take up a lot of space older kids who have come to visit have also enjoyed playing with it so I think my daughter will enjoy it for several years. It is small, but not tiny. Overall, a great, small kitchen.

After researching many play kitchens, I decided on this one. I was happy to find a kitchen that wasn't overly pink/bright/or kitschy and fits in with the decor of our modern house. My 18 month old loves it! She enjoys turning the knobs that click and can easily open all the doors and drawers. She also loves that she can put water in the plastic sink.
