We really like the kitchen--it is made well, easy to assemble, and super cute. It has the phone, which our kids totally loves. HOWEVER...it is tiny. My daughter got this on her third birthday, and she is already taller than the refrigerator (and she's not especially tall). It's a micro kitchen, so we're a little disappointed. We were hoping this was a toy that would go the distance, but I can't see a five year old playing in a dwarfed little kitchen. If they made this 30% bigger it would be great, especially since then all the toys made to go with play kitchens (like Melissa and Doug cookie sheets that don't fit in our tiny oven) would fit.

PACKAGING: Very well flat packed with extra care/foam wrap on the windowed portions. All but one of the hinges were already assembled. The nuts, screws, locks and bolts were well labeled and organized on a cardboard & bubble package. There were two tiny spots on the oven "rack"(shelf) that had been scratched, but were easily touched up with a dab of silver paint.

BUILD TIME: 1 Mommy, 2 hours and a ratchet screwdriver with interchangeable bits. There are a lot of pieces here, but I found the instructions were well illustrated and the pre-drilled holes lined up properly. I'm glad I did not wait until Christmas Eve to put this together.

DIMENSIONS: As other have mentioned this is a smaller kitchen. For us that was a good thing, but some may want a larger one.
Overall Measurements 36 H x 33 W x 11 D - So about as tall as a regular adult desk.
Fridge has a middle separator shelf
-top cubby is approx. 8 H x 8.5 W x 10 D
-bottom cubby 8.5 H x 8.5 W x 10 D
cabinet under fridge 11.5 H x 8.5 W x 10 D
under sink cabinet w/ door 6 H x 8.5 W x 10 D
open under sink cubby 4.5 H x 8.5 W x 10 D
open shelf above the stove 4.5 H x 4.5 D x 8.5 W (at back)the front curves to the right, aprox 4.5 W at front

WHAT I ADDED:

Dishes 70 pieces set: Learning Resources Kitchen Set
The pots, kettle etc are the perfect size for the stove burners and the rest of the pieces fit great. Others mentioned how small the cups and plates were in that set and I agree 100%, but for the price you get so many great pieces so I would still recommend it for this kitchen.

This is a lovely kitchen. It is smaller than I expected but the perfect size for our nearly 2 year old...she is very short though. For older kids I would recommend putting this on a cabinet or other item to elevate it.

It is well designed and quite sturdy once put together. Before you build it you must read the section below:

1. Get an electric and magnetic screwdriver NOW...if you don't already have one!

The screws and bolts are teeny weeny. They do provide an allen key and wrench tools but it's not so helpful. It makes tightening the 100's of screws much easier and you won't keep having them fall off the screwdriver like I did. Have another proper wrench on hand to hold the tiny bolts which screwing items in. Makes it much easier.

2. Put aside 3 hours to do this.

DO NOT build this the night before Christmas/birthday/Hunnukah or any of those silly ideas. This kitchen is going to take quite a while to put together. If you want to sleep before the big event and keep your sanity do it when there is less pressure.

3. You need to concentrate on the building.

Get a good night sleep before hand! This will reduce the number of wrong bolts screwed in and installing cabinet door upside down mistakes. I am an Ikea expert and this was one of the most complicated build jobs I've ever done. An Ikea cabinet has nothing on this kitchen. You can see the screws from the Ikea cabinet, which leads me to...

4. Do this in a room with strong light - daylight preferable.

We did it in the living room at night with headlamps on. Unless you live in a detention center that is lit by rows of fluorescent lights you will not have enough light to install the teeny weeny screws that need to go inside the cabinets.

5.

Pros:
Small enough to be completely functional for my 18 month old.
Looks great in the dining room where we keep it.
It is Extremely cute! The color is a very nice red, and it looks really nice.
My son plays in his kitchen while I do dishes or cook, instead of hanging onto me.
The stove knobs click when you turn them, all of the doors open well, lots of storage space and shelving.
The faucet rotates, the hot and cold water handles turn (or can be used like soap dispensers which my son does).
It isn't a crazy colored plastic behemoth like other kitchens, which mattered to me.
My son's imagination soars while playing with this.

Cons:
None. I seriously love it and anyone that sees it wants it for their child instead of what they got.

Accessories I Got:
Melissa and Doug wooden pot and pan set (the red one): Look as if they came with the kitchen. The oven mitt and utensils that come with it are very nice too. A great deal and a great buy that fits in perfectly.
Melissa and Doug cutting fruit crate: It doesn't come with a cutting board, but my son likes trying to cut the fruit. sometimes he succeeds!
Melissa and Doug food groups: Are you kidding me with these low prices!? Very nice set, lots of wooden play food. We love them and my son pretend cooks them. Did I mention I love it?
Melissa and Doug magnetic kitchen bottle collection: The BEST! A lot of fun, my son loves them a lot. He likes to match the color tops, pretend to cook with them, and rearrange them in his cupboards.

I plan on getting some soft toy veggies later on too. I love this product and the accessories I got to go with it. This kitchen is the best, especially for younger toddlers! My son plays with it everyday and has a blast.
