I bought this to help prevent my young children from riding their bikes into the street when playing in the driveway.

Very easy to install, it took me all of maybe 15 minutes to unbox it, make the holes, and set it up. You have to make sure the PVC pipes that go into the ground go in completely level, otherwise the retraction device will not work well. It states to do this in the directions, though.

Now, I've read several reviews that say that a kid can figure out how to get under it, yadda yadda. Well, if you want to truly stop a toddler or child from getting past an obstacle, then build a true fence, and put gates over your driveway. No reasonable person looks at a mesh gate and thinks, hey, this will totally stop my kid from going around it or under it.

What is it supposed to do? It is supposed to stop balls from rolling in the street. But, it also stops my kids from riding their bikes or skateboards into the street, too. That's what it's designed for.

What's better is, when people drive by my house now, they see the bright orange mesh and immediately slow down. I think it is making people more alert that they need to be on the look out for kids. My neighbors were so impressed that they are buying one, too -- so with a couple of these next to each other, drivers on the road will probably have even more caution.

Great product, easy to install, does what it is supposed to do.

...but a child can easily pull the gate down and climb over it, so I would not use it as a gate to retain a child. It works well at providing an obstacle to the street and alerts cars not to pull in the driveway. It also keeps balls from rolling in the street. Quality is okay, but the retraction feature sometimes can be difficult to operate.

We love this driveway guard. All the neighbors have been asking us where we got it. We built a wood housing to it and attached it to our wrot iron fence since we don't have soil for the stakes to go into. The retractable mechanism works great. The mesh itself is loose enough to allow balls to roll underneath and it may be a matter of time until my son figures out how to crawl underneath but it is a great barrier/deterrant. Plus it keeps the dog from running into the street or on to the neighbors grass. However it would not be strong enough to contain an aggressive dog.

Great product! It is not a fail safe to keep children in the yard, but a great reminder to not go any farther and to keep balls, bicycles, etc. in the driveway rather than on the road. Highly recommend.

It was exactly what I thought it would be. We were able to install it in just minutes, and it keeps thing from rolling into our busy street. Why not 5*'s well, it is on the expensive side.

Whilst the net is good enough to stop a ball from rolling into the street, it certainly wouldn't stop a determined kid (nor, I suspect, is it designed to). The main benefit I have seen is physiological and my kids certainly recognize the net as a boundary that they do not go beyond.

From a practical view, the net is easy to install, open, close and store. Well recommended.

This is a great safety gate. We live on a 55mph road with a nice big driveway, and now I feel a lot safer letting my son ride his bike in the driveway. The retracting feature is brilliant. The gate closes up very neatly when not in use. The poles fit into two PVC pipes that are placed in the ground, which makes the gate easily set up and taken down. It sags a little in the middle, because our driveway is fairly wide, but it gets the job done. Perfect for anyone with kids.

We purchased this gate to keep the dog from running out into the street while we were training her. Don't expect miracles; dogs will be dogs. But it does give you a 15 second delay to grab the animal before it gets into trouble. Remember to retract the gate when finished with it, especially before it gets dark. You will not see it and may back your car through it... twice...
Anyway, it's just as good a gate the second time around as it was the first.

This product is not really 25' it was only 24'. It also already broke. Before it broke it tangled going back in every time. I do not recomend!

This has been great..we don't have a driveway gate and it the best place for the kids to play on their scooters. it keep the kids their balls & toys in the yard. the only negative is that it tends to sag a bit, we tweak it a bit to stay taut.
