This review is from: Kidnap (Paperback)
As someone who has read most of Van Heller's works, I was surprised that Kidnap didn't have the same style and erotic flair that most of his other works contain. Many of the scenes here read like pale translations of his his other, better stories distilled into a perfunctory framework.
The story is fairly uncomplicated. British operative goes undercover within a criminal organization--where forced and/or rough sex with women is the norm--to rescue a kidnapped boy and the stunning blonde beauty who gets caught up in events alongside him. Anyone familiar with Van Heller's other works will see the similarities right off the bat. But the sex scenes, while at times perverse, lack the fire and spice of those in his other novels. A few almost read like summaries. If you're a Van Heller fan or like really good erotica, skip Kidnap.
