More About the Author

Dr. Townsend is a blood pressure guy at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Although my primary medical training is in kidney diseases, I spend most of my time pursuing the "why" of the circulation. The 100 Q & A series I wrote (or co-wrote with associate Dr. Debbie Cohen) resulted from the pursuit of answers to the "why" in the adventure called "clinical medicine". Many thanks to those patients whose stories and experiences helped shape the "why".
