5.0 out of 5 stars Great Voices for Kids So Young
Every single one of these kids has amazing talent at such a young age and I commend all of them.

For those who watched the show, this is a great CD compiling some of their best nights American Juniors.

Danielle White "Colors of the Wind" is amazing. She has a very special gift.

I recommend this CD for any American Juniors fan or anybody who likes to listen...

5.0 out of 5 stars Danielle and the others, September 30, 2003
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
As most people with a good ear have already commented Danielle White has the most amazing voice of this group. I enjoyed all of the songs on this CD (especially Katelinn, Chantel and Morgan) but it is Danielle's crystal clear voice and perfect pitch that makes you crank the volume just to here how good it is. Pity they made her sing Colors of the Wind. The next CD will have Never Had A Dream. A truly perfect song if you watched the show. Why she was the last voted in I'll never know. Gladys Knight had it right - MMMMM, MMMMM!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a bunch of talent!, December 4, 2003
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
I've had this CD ever since it came out in September, and it hasn't left my CD player. I am a fan of the show American Juniors, and this is the perfect item to go with it. Everyone sounds great on it, but I feel like I need to mention a few particular tracks. Danielle White, who sang "Colors Of The Wind" on track 11, has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard. The song is incredible. It's so much better than other versions I've heard, expecially the Disney version in Pocahontas. Another song that I really love is "Let Er Rip" performed by now ten-year-old Tori Thompson. Her voice is so mature, and it also has a country flare to it, which makes this song so easy to listen to. From the sound of the track, it looks like the Dixie Chicks have some competition. The last track that I feel need to mention, even though I love all twelve tracks, is their single "One Step Closer." This song is so upbeat and cool, I never get tired of listening to it. Every one of the ten finalists has their own small part in the song, which makes it even more special.

I encourage you to buy this CD, and to follow the careers of Taylor and Tori Thompson, Chauncey Matthews, Lucy Hale, and Danielle White: The American Juniors.

5.0 out of 5 stars if u don't buy this, ur crazy!, November 22, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
This is probably one of the best CDs ever! You should buy it.

1. ONE STEP CLOSER- this was an original of S CLUB 8, but I personally think the top ten sang it better. But I hardly heard any of the rest of the top ten, just the group. 9/10

2. I'M GONNA MAKE YOU LOVE ME- Lucy sang this great, but I personally think CALL ME was better. They should have put that song on the CD. But still, Lucy sang it great! 9/10

3. BUILD ME UP BUTTERCUP- that was probably the best song on the CD. I wonder why Morgan never made the top three. But it seemed as though the backup singing had more . . . signing than Morgan singing. But still he deserved a 10/10

4. LET 'ER RIP- to tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of Tori Thompson. But the way she sang this song was amazing! But the first part wasn't all that great. 8/10

5. A WHOLE NEW WORLD- move over Ruben! Chauncey was great in this song. He's my favorite. I must rather have prefered HEY THERE LONELY GIRL, but it was still great. 9/10

6. I'LL NEVER FALL IN LOVE AGAIN- this song makes me wonder why Katelyn never made the top three. She was great! 10/10

7. OPEN ARMS- OMG! Chantel should have made the goup. This song made me cry! She is so good! 10/10

8. PROUD MARY- Taylor was great! I knew she'd make it in the band. But it was short. 9/10

9. MORE TODAY THAN YESTERDAY- Jordan was great! She should have made the band. I loved the music better than her singing though. 9/10

10. I'LL BE THERE- OMG! What happened to A.J.? I hated this song. All the other songs he sang were wonderful, but this one deserved no standing ovation. 3/10

11. COLORS OF THE WIND- Danielle gave me chills. 10/10

12. KIDS IN AMERICA- this was great! But still, it sounded as though only the group sang this. 9/10

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good!, September 19, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
Some of these kids are better then the older idols.
The standouts are: Morgan Burke, fanastic on "Build Me Up Buttercup" Tori Thompson (who channels Natalie Maines on "Let er Rip") and Danielle White, who was voted in last. God knows why cause she was the BEST of them, and this track proves it. She is the one to watch of the band, she has an amazing voice, and actually feels the song, the emotion is right there in it. Amazing. The only bad thing is Lucy Hale, who was amazing on the show, is sattled with a song that is not worthy of her talent. She sung plenty of songs that were better on the show.
Everyone else does well too, and I liked most of the song selections.

4.0 out of 5 stars ..., December 9, 2003

Well, I am an AI/AI2/AJ addict. I couldn't stop watching if I wanted to. I've had the privelege to speak with some of the juniors, and it seems the more talented they are, the nicer and more humble.

You know, I had a lot of stuff written out..I'm going to trim it down to DANIELLE WHITE. This girl..AHHHHHHHH! Beautiful, humble, sweet, and SO talented! Homegirl is 11 and she has the most chill-inducing voice I think I've ever heard. Colors of the Wind is worth buying the CD, period.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing talent from such young people, September 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
All the kids have amazing talent. They are all pros in their individual styles. Tori really has an amazing big voice for a 9 year old girl. She'd have a real good voice for country music. Sort of a Lean Rimes sound. You'll love her. Her sister Tayor is also very talented. I hope to hear her do more solo stuff on the next CD. Jordan has a cute little voice. She was one of my favorites. I wish she could have made the final cut for the band but I think we'll be seeing more of her with her talent and personality. Lucy has an amazing voice. She'll make it big with or without the group. Danielle is just amazing. She's the only one in the group who can bring tears to your eyes with her singing. I wish I had a whole CD of nothing but her. Looking forward to hearing more from her. I wish the best of luck to all the kids with their careers.

5.0 out of 5 stars a very fun cd!, November 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
This CD is very fun because its a mixture of a lot of different types of songs! Here's my opinion on each of the songs :

1. One Step Closer- really good song, but the only people who have solos are the girls, you can't even hear the boys singing

2. I'm Gonna Make You Love Me- Lucy Hale (14)- she sounds really good in this! the song is not the original, its the Play version

3. Build Me Up Buttercup- Morgan Burke (12)- this song was the best he's ever done, it was perfect for him!

4. Let 'er Rip- Tori Thompson (9)- it's amazing she's only 9! this is a very fun upbeat song too!

5. A Whole New World- Chauncey Matthews (11)- Chauncey sounds so adorable in this song! i still think his best was "Moon River" but he still sounds really good!

6. I'll Never Fall In Love Again- Katelyn Tarver (13)- you can tell her voice has gotten better, with the CD version compared to the first time she sang it. i like the ending on the cd much better too!

7. Open Arms-Chantel Kohl (13)- wow! this song was really good for her because it expressed her high notes very well!

8. Proud Mary- Taylor Thompson (11)- this is a very fun song! Taylor does a good job too!

9. I Love You More Today Than Yesterday-Jordan McCoy (11)- this is a very cute song, and Jordan does a good job.

10. I'll Be There- AJ Malendez (12)- a good song for him

11. Colors of The Wind- Danielle White (11)- THE BEST SONG ON THE CD! Danielle has such a great voice, its amazing she's only 11! I would buy this CD just for this song!

12. Kids in America- its better than the original version! The boys also have solos in the song, and this song is more their age too.

4.0 out of 5 stars AMERICAN JUNIORS Kids In America, November 24, 2004
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
This is the c.d. with the American Juniors Top 10 Finalists & I think it's a very great c.d.
1.One Step Closer Performed by the American Juniors Top 10 Finalists-I loved this song!I think it's one of the best songs on this album! 10/10
2.I'm Gonna Make You Love Me Performed by Lucy Hale-I loved Lucy on the show,I'm so glad she made the group, but I've never been a fan of this song. She should've sang Call Me,her winning song!
3.Build Me Up Buttercup Performed by Morgan Burke-This is an amazing performance by Morgan!I thought he was the best guy on the show, although I didn't really like the guys on the show.He sings it much better on the album than live!
4.Let 'Er Rip Performed by Tori Thompson-I loved Tori!I'm very satisfied with her making the group,& I love this song.I think she is better than The Dixie Chicks at this song!Thats how good she is!I would have rather her sang Love The One Your With.
5.A Whole New World Performed by Chauncey Matthews-I've never been a big fan of Chauncey,I mean I cried when he beat out Chantel for a spot in the group. This performance is o.k.I think it's way better than A.J.'s song atleast.
6.I'll Never Fall In Love Again Performed by Katelyn Tarver-I think this is a great performance by Katelyn.I would have rather her sang On The Radio but this is good enough! It's really good!
7.Open Arms Performed by Chantel Kohl-This is the best performance on the whole c.d.!Chantel was my absolute favorate & she sings this song a hell of a lot better than Journey or Mariah Carey! She should have made the group!I love this performance so much!
8.Proud Mary Performed by Taylor Thompson-I love Taylor,I mean it's obvious why she made the group! She rocked at singing, she was hot,& she had great stage presance! She sings this song better than Tina Turner!
9.More Today Than Yesterday Performed by Jordan McCoy-She rocked the house singing her encore of this song!Jordan should've made the group along side Chantel instead of Chauncey & Danielle! This song rocks!I think Jordan sings it better studio recorded than live! She has a beautiful voice!
10.I'll Be There Performed by A.J. Melendez-O.K. Michael Jackson, his brothers,& Mariah Carey have to be very dissapointed after hearing A.J. singing this song!Because he sucks at singing this song!!!!
11.Colors Of The Wind Performed by Danielle White-Danielle sings this song very well,I think she sings it better on the c.d. than she did on the show!
13.Kids In America Performed by the American Juniors Top 10 Finalists-I love this song!I love all the solos but I never noticed Chauncey's solo & I think that's so unfair if everyone but him has a solo!
I think everyone who enjoyed the show should buy this c.d.!After all, there is only one bad performance on it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice!, December 26, 2003
This review is from: Kids In America (Audio CD)
This CD overall is a great buy, especially if you watched the "American Juniors" show. All 10 of these kids are very talented and hopefully they will be successful!

01. One Step Closer - This song seems a bit overproduced, but it has a great tune!

02. I'm Gonna Make You Love Me - I was a little disappointed because I think Lucy is the most talented out of all the performers, but she got stuck with a song that didn't showcase her talent as much as "Get Here" or "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do." Still, she sings this song well.

03. Build Me Up Buttercup - Morgan does a great job with this song, but there's not much else I have to say about it.

04. Let 'Er Rip - Wow, this song is done amazingly well considering that Tori Thompson was only 9 years old when she recorded this. This song could go right to the radio, the power shown in it is phenomenal.

05. A Whole New World - I like this song a lot, and it is done well, Chauncey really made it his own. Not the best on the whole album, but worth a listen.

06. I'll Never Fall In Love Again - I was happy that they changed the ending of this song, it makes Katelyn's voice seem much smoother. With this song you can tell that Katelyn has real potential.

07. Open Arms - In my opinion, this is the best cut on the CD. Chantel proves that she can hit the high notes perfectly as well as pulling off the soothing lower notes. I was blown away after I heard this, it's simply amazing.

08. Proud Mary - I'm not really a huge fan of Taylor, but I do like her rendition of this song. It's bouncy and makes you want to move around, even if vocally it doesn't set the world on fire.

09. More Today Than Yesterday - This is a pretty good listen, I don't think it was as good as Jordan's performance on the finale show, but it's still fine.

10. I'll Be There - I don't think that this was the best song for A.J. to sing, but he really nails it. You can tell that his range is amazing, as he goes from low to high notes effortlessly.

11. Colors of the Wind - What can I say? One time listening to this song and you will definitely be painting with the colors of the wind. Danielle is one of few people who can actually make one "feel" a song, and she is a rare talent in today's world of heavy metal and rap. This is one of the best tracks on the album.

12. Kids In America - I really liked this one a lot, you can tell the kids are talented in this one, unlike "One Step Closer" where their voices seem manufactured. Overall, a fantastic album! Buy it today!
