5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource!, April 20, 2005

This review is from: Kids in the Biz: A Hollywood Handbook for Parents (Paperback)
If you're a parent and have a child who wants to be in "the biz", then this is the book for you. We don't live in LA and were desperate for information that could help us understand the industry and make good choices. This book has been a tremendous asset that we consult quite often. Everyone knows the saying that "you don't know what you don't know." Thanks to this book, we are now "in the know" about how to best help our son pursue his Hollywood dream. Thanks Troy!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the better children in entertainment books out there, September 18, 2008
This review is from: Kids in the Biz: A Hollywood Handbook for Parents (Paperback)
I have purchased quite a few books on the subject of child modeling/acting and this by far is one of the better ones. It has a lot of information on how to get your child started in the entertainment industry whether you live in los angeles or not. Although it is definately geared toward acting, it could also be useful for modeling...same general rules still apply. At the end of the book it even lists some reputable children's talent agencies located in the los angeles area. All in all, a very good resource that i still consult from time to time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Geared more towards kid actors & general auditioning tips; okay book., December 4, 2007

This review is from: Kids in the Biz: A Hollywood Handbook for Parents (Paperback)
This book is definitely geared towards parents with kids interested in acting. Good info on auditioning and selecting an agent/manager. Okay book, not as easy or personable read as some other books that I have purchased that are written from the parent's point of view on "how to" or "what to expect". Not too sure I would call this a "handbook" per se, but a good book to gain a little more knowledge about the child entertainment business.
