Editorial Reviews

Review

Most cookbooks written for people with diabetes provides two types of recipes: those that are tasty, but take a long time to prepare and those that are quick and easy, but ultimately lack flavour. The 'Kid's Choice Cookbook' is unique in that its recipes provide the best of both worlds... This cookbook was developed with kids in mind. However it offers popular recipe ideas for both young and old to enjoy. For the novice chef, this cookbook offers tips and simple to follow directions, which are of great value when creating your meals. If you are looking for popular, tasty, nutritional meals on the run, 'The Kid's Choice Cookbook' is the one for you! -- Diabetes Dialogue, Alison Wynd

5.0 out of 5 stars My Choice!, June 11, 2003

I have never enjoyed a cookbook more! It brought back all those warm fun times I had cooking, with my mother and especially my grandmother, as a child. I love Mr. Radish and his "did you know?" and "just for fun" tips. I work in healthcare and I see time and again adult diabetic patients whose diets are inadequate and unhealthy. If we can instill in the children a love of cooking and empower them to make healthy food choices I believe it will positively affect every aspect of their lives. This cookbook can be a BIG step in that direction. I must note that I gift this cookbook to all the children in my life (nephews, friends kids, etc.) as healthy eating and alot of fun are good things for all children! I also recommend Colleen Bartley's cookbook for big kid's called First Choice...but that's a review for another day. Enjoy the good eats!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for anyone needing to be on a diet, December 20, 2005

The Kids Choice Cookbook is an excellent book for anyone! Even though I do not have diabetes (I have hypoglycemia), this book had TONS of tasty recipes and tips for healthy eating. All the recipes are very easy to make and have step-by-step instructions, so even little kids can learn to cook healthy foods and snacks. I also like how the author lists the exchanges for every recipe, so you don't have to guess. This book would be a great gift for a kid, newly diagnosed with diabetic. I highly recommend it!

I work in a daycare and this book has many helpful recipes for different age groups. I would recommend this book to other caregivers and parents. I even recommend this book to those who are just starting to cook.
