If you are beginning to cook with your children and want a cookbook which will give you easy recipes with step by step directions and photos to accompany the recipes, this may just be the cookbook to get you started. The women provided excellent resources on measurement in the beginning of the cookbook. If you are new to cooking or your child is new to cooking this will be a handy resource with photos of course.

I found the recipes to be "kid friendly" and the ingredients seemed to be ones children most likely would enjoy eating too. There were sections on dairy recipes which included pasta recipes and quesadillas. Then there was a section on meat, chicken and fish which included grilled chicken sticks and taco night. There was a section on side dishes , snack time, and of course desserts too.

I felt the photos included really added to the step by step directions which would make it easier to "see" how the finished product should look. The authors are parents who cook with their children so I felt this cookbook related to their own experiences with cooking with their children.

The how-to's are on separate pages from the instructions. The instructions are inadequate -- for deep dish pizza with dough from scratch, it basically says to mix the dough ingredients together and knead them. The technique section (pages away) shows a picture of sprinkling cornmeal in the pan, but not of kneading, which serious adult cookbooks devote multiple diagrams and/or extended explanations to. And some of the recipes are really junky -- gummy bear rugelach? Spray candy? Really? I like Kosher By Design's Kids in the Kitchen much better.

My daughter loves cooking and puttering around and about my kitchen so I knew she would appreciate this fun and approachable cookbook. What I didn't expect is my BOYS to be (literally) fighting over it too!! they loved it! My 8 year old was reading it with the same intensity usually reserved for reading comic books. He read it cover to cover. My Kids Cooking Made Easy has now multiple post its sticking out, all recipes my children are planning on trying out. I better get my mop ready :)
All the recipes we have tried so far were delicious and foolproof . Instructions are clear and kid friendly. The pictures are magnificent. I can only rave about this cookbook and hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

My 9yr old daughter received this as a Chanukah gift and it could not have been a greater hit. She was smiling ear to ear and kept on showing me all the recipes she plans on trying out. Her first recipe was a pizza dish. It came out delicious and she felt like a million dollars. Even I found myself discovering tips I never knew despite the fact that I have been cooking for over ten years. My mom didn't let me cook and I only started after I got married. So my husband was my guinea pig and till this day I'm learning new tips and tricks that I should have known when I was a teenager. I'm happy my daughter is getting the headstart I didn't get. The picturials of how to saute onions was one that I thought was very helpful. I also loved the fact that it suggests to the kids to clean up after themselves if they want their parents to let them cook again! If you don't mind supervising your children cooking and giving them a boost of confidence then this Children's cookbook is highly recommended.

Got this for my 11 year old daughter who loves to cool and bake. She is enjoying the cookbook. It has helpful tips and explains step by step how to complete a recipe. She seems to like it so far. Each recipe has pictures. There r some simple recipes that really don't need to be in a cookbook such as popcorn or smoothies. Otherwise I definetely recommend this cookbook for young bakers/cooks
