A real Bible for kids,
By Tami Lumpkins (Grapevine, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible Revised (Paperback)
My 7 year old daughter wanted her own Bible, but not just a book of stories, she wanted the full text. With this Bible, she can read and understand the Bible on her own. She devours the daily devotionals, sometimes reading two or three in a day. Even though the text is easy to understand, there are still words she does not understand - The dictionary in the back provides simple definitions for words such as redeem, curse, etc. The subject index allows her to look up subjects she is interested in. If we are talking about how to be a good friend, we just look up friends in the index and read what God has to say.I recommend this Bible to early readers who want the full text of the Bible without the difficult text of other versions.

NIrV Kids Devotional Bible,
By A Customer
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible Revised (Paperback)
My grandson who is 7 years old has really taken to reading this Kids version of the Bible. According to my daughter, he loves reading every night before he goes to bed. He reads very well and the Bible stories are well geared to his age group. I appreciate the fact that at his young age he is so interested in reading God's Word and Jesus is becoming so real to him. This is an excellent version for young minds to spark their interest in reading God's word. An answer to the prayer of a Grandmother's heart. Thanks for the opportunity to list is review. God Bless

Great REAL Bible,
By A Customer
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
I bought this Bible for my son (6 y.o) and have been amazed at how well he can read it. Even though he is just learning to read, he is able to use the "rules" he know to figure out most of the words. What a GREAT book to use for someone who's learning to read! He loves it because it's not just stories, he's reading his Bible just like I do. I just wish I had gotten the hardcover.

Nice beginners devotional bible,
By Linda S (Santa Maria, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
I bought this bible, so that I could read it to my 5 year old. I wanted a real bible, not a storybook bible, in language he could understand. He is in awanas, so he is learning lots of verses and I sometimes have problems explaining the context of the verses. So far, it is exactly what I expected. The language is easy to understand. My son is not old enough to use it as a devoltional bible, but it looks like it would be great.

I've Never Seen A Bible Quite Like This One A++++,

This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
This Bible is SOOO GREAT!! We have an 8 year old daughter who longs to read the "real bible" however none of them make any sense to her except the little childrens ones that don't have the complete bible. This Bible makes her feel so grown up and quite honestly all she wants to do now is read "her bible" with my assistance. I guess that is a "problem" every parent longs for!! What a great way to teach a child to read!! You won't be disappointed at all with this purchase!!

This is an excellent bible for all ages. It is easy enough for a 2nd grader and also great for anyone who wants an understanding of the Word of God. I am a primary Sunday School teacher with two young children. The children and I absolutely love it!

Great kids bible,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
Although I don't own this bible myself, my close friend has it and used to always carry it to Sunday School when we were six, seven, and eight. It got pretty worn out and I remember we shared it often as I didn't have one. It's great for primary elementary school readers, as the font is bigger than most bibles, and the scripture itself is in a language very easy to understand. Later, even though we all got NIV bibles, I realized NIrV is the perfect kickoff for bible reading. This bible is also perfect for adults who have trouble understanding. I really recommend this bible!

Great Bible,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
My whole life has bibles changed over time. My very first one was "The beginner's bible". When I read that I wanted the full text to carry to sunday school, not just stories. My dad accidentally bought a bible that was KJV, not looking at it close enough. I was so excited but then when I started reading all I could think of was "Whats goeth? Whats spake? Whats brethren?" My dad then realised it and surfed the net to find a good bible for me. Then he stumbled across this one. I was five years old when I got it. I was absolutely delighted! I used it till I was eight, then I switched to a NIV bible. It was great since the text was very easy to understand, and the type bigger than most. I really recommend this bible!

great morning devotional,
This review is from: NIrV Kids' Devotional Bible (Hardcover)
I've tried several translations for morning devotions (4 & 6 year olds) and they actually seem to follow this through an entire passage! Some explanation but still.... Yea!
