Information about the obvious,
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids Explore Boston: The Very Best Kids' Activities Within an Easy Drive of Boston (Paperback)
We found this book to be a total waste of money. It primarily lists very obvious activities and sites in the Boston Area -- there is nothing new to be learned in this book. Any parent could figure out most of these sites by looking in the yellow pages under "museum" or asking neighbors about nearby parks. Most activities listed are for children 5 and up, so those with toddlers will be out of luck.

Reliable and Complete Resource,

This review is from: Kids Explore Boston: The Very Best Kids' Activities Within an Easy Drive of Boston (Paperback)
This book has been by my side for the last two years and is so worn I had to buy another copy! Susan is right on with her age estimates and fun ratings for each outing. She ventures beyond the children's museums and zoos to lesser known locations like the Topiary Gardens in Rhode Island and Higgins Armory in Worcester. Everything you will need to have a fun day is mentioned with each outing. One word of advice: always call before you go, some of the locations in the book have closed or moved since the printing in 1994.

A great reference to a city full of children's activities,

This review is from: Kids Explore Boston: The Very Best Kids' Activities Within an Easy Drive of Boston (Paperback)
The best resource we've found for uncovering Boston's sometimes hidden family treasures. Directions to each site are right on the money. The front of the book also lists a "Best of" rating that divides sites according to age. Having four children we found this most important. At the end of the book are lists of best family beaches and ski places. The book is worth every penny.

When we went to Boston, I looked at a friend's travel guides. This was the easiest to read and most comprehensive. Great photos.

This book is a must for parents who love to explore! It will free you from time-consuming phone calls and internet searches and give you lots of new ideas. The author accurately rates each site on a "fun scale" and is good at predicting age-appropriateness. Well worth the money!
