This is a good book to use with the kids. They'll appreciate looking at the pics and balloon ratings. I didn't know there was an airplane ride. Definitely want to fly over Chicago!

We bought this book because we were so impressed with Ms. Moffat's book "Kids Explore Boston" If you're planning a trip to Boston get that book but don't bother purchasing this one. The Chicago book is lacking in many aspects. There are practically no directions to any of the sites described. She also makes several negative comments about the midwest such as "I never expected a city in the middle of America to offer such diversity..." You would be better off reviewing a book by a Chicago native who loves the city and is not at all surprised by the wealth of childrens activities available to busy families. May I instead suggest "52 Adventures in Chicago" by Lynn Gordon. It offers more creative and less expensive city activities. Not all of the activities are child specific but they are all prefectly wonderful Chicago adventures.
