I really wanted to like this thermos. I read the reviews and it seemed fairly positive. My daughter had to have this one because she loved the color.

The problem with this thermos is that it does not keep food hot. I volunteer at my daughter's school for lunch almost every day. Every morning at 7:30am I put boiling water in it. My daughter has an early lunch, 11am. And by 11am the food is either cold or barely warm. Today I made Mac & Cheese on the stove. I poured the boiling water out of her thermos and put in mac & cheese noodles that were extremely hot from the stove into the thermos. A little over 3 hours later, I was at her school for lunch. When I opened up her thermos, the noodles were cold. I was very surprised.

Needless to say, I will be looking for a new thermos.
I recommend that you do not buy this product, unless you do not care if your food stays warm.

I love that this is BPA free and it is light weight and we really like the fun color. However I am disapointed in it overall. I boil water and let the water sit in it for 30 minutes before exchanging it with food. The kids (5 and 6)say that their food is just barely warm, sometimes cold by the time they get to eat it about 4 hours later. I tried it myself and totally agree. The only food that seems to stay warm (not hot) is soup. I may have to purchase something else or it is going to be a long school year of cold lunches.

since my son's school does not provide kids with lunches, this thermos is a life-saver. it is very safe for kids and Food stays warm for hours.

VERY GOOD TO USE, EASY TO CLEAN, EASY TO OPEN TOP....
KEEP THE FOOD TO PERFECT TEMPERATURE.

I would say that it's best a) when preheated with hot water, and also, b) when it contains hot soup or liquid. I believe that hot pasta or other hot food will not stay hot. I remember when my son was in kindergarden many years ago. My wife would put a boiled hot dog in his preheated thermos and add hot water. With a hot dog roll he'd have a great hot dog for lunch.

I was a little disapointed with the durability of keeping the soup warm!!He was just perfect to eat but if i had to wait 1 more hour wouldn't be that warmer any more.There is always the good aspect which is if you going to eat your "soup"in 3/4hours i will say it's fine but the one i own from thermos was keeping the food the same way i had put inside which makes me wait and blowing the soup too cool down before giving it to my son!!
Use your own judgment but i wonder if is not liquid the food wouldn't stay that long warm i haven't tried that yet.I will try it and let you know.Rather than that it's nice looking thermos with an happy color which matches our litle cointainers i love when is time too pack the food with the happy color and nice looking containers and i am sure my son is motivated to eat from them too.

I love this thermos and so does my daughter. I use it to send her hot water so she can brew her own tea in daycare (she is 1.5yrs old). She absolutely loves making her own tea and after talking to her teacher, I know that the water remains hot from 7am to lunch time. She often has to let it sit with the lid open to let it cool off a bit. My daughter squeals with joy when she sees this thing because she knows she's about to have some warm tea. Not only is it efficient at keeping liquids hot, it is also a healthy alternative to the plastic thermos that flood the market. Get it, you won't regret it.

My 5-year old uses this for his kindergarten lunches. So far, we've sent him to school with pasta that we heat up in the morning and put into the thermos. From his reports, it seems like the pasta doesn't stay hot -- just barely warm. I think I have to do my own test of this thermos and see how effective it is. But it is leak-proof and seems very durable.
