5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! January 28, 2011

I love love love this Eco-Dough!!!!!!! I have had mine for several months and I actually like it a lot better than Playdoh. I use Eco-Dough when working with many of my special needs children and adults. They love it! My kids who have sensory integration issues love the texture and it actually smells like some of the extracts used to make it, which is a neat sensory experience for them. I also like the individual containers the Eco-dough comes in. It keeps the dough from drying out and it's a great fine motor activity to get my students to unscrew the lids and get the dough out. My students like it because it's easier to work with than Playdoh. The directions say that you can add a little olive oil if it gets dried out, but I have not had this issue so far.

Just like the other kind reviewer, I never have before reviewed anything on Amazon, but I decided to because the only other reviewer gave Eco-Dough three stars, but spent most of her review writing about Playdoh. I can't really figure out why she gave it three stars because she didn't really seem to give any reasons for that, but seems to dislike Playdoh.

IMHO, it's well worth the higher price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for natural dough August 12, 2010

Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is a good natural dough. If you really want to avoid all chemicals, its great because the colors are derived from plants, like beets, spinach, etc. It has a nice essential oil smell.

My only complaint is that the product is inconsistent. We've had two containers, and the colors were much more vibrant in one. And the other had lumps of flour in the green and the orange. They werent mixed totally smooth. Ive used food colorings derived from plants before, and they are a very consistent product, so the color differences cant be attributed to the fact that not all beets are created equal. I just think that batch was either old, or not mixed well. Still, no one stopped it from being packaged or sold.

So Id say poor quality control. Still, its a fun product.

I also wish the colors were sold separately. We seem to go though the purplish one first here, and Id gladly buy more of that sole color. But since you have to buy it as a set, I wait until we are low in general.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too STICKY, doesn't mold December 6, 2011
Size Name:Original
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
My 2-year-old was given this as a gift. The dough smells nice and comes in neat natural colors, but it is super sticky! I could barely scrape it out of the containers, and my daughter couldn't shape it well. It stuck to my table, leaving oil stains, and stuck to our fingers so that we had to wash them off with dish soap. Would not recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Texture
They are very easy to play with. They do have a slight odor to them, but it's not as bad as other play doughs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the softness and lightness of the dough. Great tactile experience. Not sure about durability yet, but otherwise a great item.
