After my mother had a few cancerous moles removed, I became quite vigilant about sunscreen at the ripe old age of 16. Unfortunately, despite buying the highest SPF sunscreens, and reapplying every 2 hours, I would inevitably end up tanned - or worse yet, burnt. Blotchy breakouts on my face from even the most gentle of sunscreens was to be expected.

When i had children, who also had sensitive skin, my quest for a good, safe sunscreen became more important. We're outside every day in the summer, and we play hard. I wanted to find a good sunscreen that could protect us all, preferably without rashes and breakouts.

This sunscreen fits the bill. One application in the morning seems to be sufficient to keep us protected all day - even in the water. No one breaks out, and no one complains about the smell.

That isn't to say that it's perfect. It's thick. It's white. If you don't rub it in well enough, you will have friends making anxious inquiries about your health. And if you want a summer tan, well.. this one is probably too effective for you. We're still January pale - and I'm thrilled.

I have used badger, blue lizard, kabana, loving naturals, coola and on and on in attempt to protect naturally without a freakishly ghostly appearance for my kids...this product comes out creamy but globs on and then cannot even be smoothed over the skin, so it appears white, goopy and blotchy.....I threw away two bottles as I just gave up on the product application. Try another brand. I went to the environmental working group website for help and currently, i am the most satisfied with Earthkind.

I absolutely LOVE Goddess Garden Sunscreen! Not greasy at all, and I can use it on my face and my body. Smells lovely...lavender!

I did tons of research on safe sunscreens, and got this one and the TruKids brand as well. This is more the one my husband and I use, because it's cheaper than TruKids and easier to spread on. It has a nice light scent, rubs in easily, and doesn't take half the bottle for one beach day. I did miss having higher SPF protection (even though I know supposedly anything above 30 or 45 isn't proven), and felt I had to reapply more often on my arms to prevent burning. Overall though, a good buy.

Very disappointed! It creates a thin layer on your skin and you look unevenly white! When you jump into the water, it peels of, and your skin is not protected any longer. Awful. I brought mine back to Whole Foods(where purchsed) for full refund.

P.S. I wonder who wrote those good reviews, cannot even imagine anyone being satisfied with this product.

I was searching for a sunblock made of natural ingredients rather than a bunch of chemicals since I would be slathering this on my kids throughout the summer. I love this sunblock! It smells nice, goes on smoothly and absorbs well, isn't sticky or tacky so you feel comfortable wearing it all day. The best part is that even though we often forget to reapply the sunblock, we have never burned, even after a full day at the swimming pool. Even my husband and I use it so you can carry just one bottle of sunblock for the whole family. While it's pricey, I think it's worth it.

This sunscreen is one of the best I have ever used, plus they have the best customer service. I bought a sunscreen that had something wrong with the smell. I talked to them about it. They sent me a new replacement product without any questions. They also told me that if I was not happy with the replacement product they would give me a full refund. TRY IT! YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Bought this because my 2-year-old daughter had a reaction to another brand. She has had no trouble with it, and I love the fact that it is made from more natural ingredients. Not a hint of a sunburn or tan anywhere (except for the day Grandma forgot to apply it).

The product is thick enough that you can see where you have applied it and do need to rub it in a bit more than traditional sunscreens.

The bottle I bought last summer has turned a bit funky (a bit smellier, and chunky) but it still works well. Planning to "invest" in another bottle and I don't have any qualms about using it on my 6-month old.
