I gave this camera to my five year old son for his birthday. He took about 60 pictures with it, so I downloaded them for him to see. All of the pictures were awful, so I tried to take a few myself (I've been using digital cameras since 1999, so I figured that I could do better). My pictures were awful, too. The images were poorly exposed in most cases, and most of the images had strange artifacts that likely arise from poor optics and/or electronics--you can't get around those no matter how good a photograper you are. So much for image quality.

The bundled software is mostly a "teaser" version. The software dangles some useful functions in front of you, but you'll have to upgrade the software to get to them. That's not too surprising for a $60 camera, but it's frustrating anyway.

I was also disappointed in how difficult it is to change the batteries in this camera. I had to use an eyeglass screwdriver to get the battery compartment open. The entire assembly looks and feels very flimsy. Ugh.

Pros:

It's small

It has a Batman logo on it

Cons:

Image quality

Software

Badly designed battery compartment

I am sending this camera back today.

We got this for our 5 year old daughter, a big batman fan, as a holiday gift. It was a huge letdown. The unit works, but it is very slow to take a picture- this makes it very un-kid- friendly.

After two sets of batteries and 4 images, we realized that the thing was eating batteries when it wasn't even on! Unfortunately rechargable batteries (or removing the batteries when it is not in use) is not an option- the batter cover is flimsly attached by an electrical wire and requires a small screwdriver to access.

I contacted the phone number printed on the device (good luck finding any real contact info in the supplied documentation). They listed to my problem and told me to write them a letter! I wrote the letter, including the info as instructed. Half a month went by- still no response. I called them today. I was told it takes 10 business days. I explain that it has been well over 10 business days including ample time for the letter to reach them and a response to get to me. Then I found out they can't help me- I need to write another letter. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor explained the same thing. I asked her to put herself in my shoes- what does this say about your company's support? She understood but was unable to help (the warehouse is responsible for this (!!!) not customer service. I asked to speak to her supervisor. That person wasn't around, but I could call back....

I am going to contact DC/Warner about my disatisfaction with the licensee of their brand. This is a disgrace of a toy from a joke of a toy company. The only thing I think they manufacure, from reading these other reviews is a child's disappointment.

We just bought this camera for our five year old son at Wal-Mart for $20. We have been wanting a camera for him and this sounded like a great buy. Unfortunately, when we brought it home and tried to use it, we could not get it to work at all. We tried using both an MMC and an SD but it would not work with either. After inserting the card, the camera would not do anything. It even locked up a couple of times, requiring the batteries be removed to turn the camera off. After doing this, the battery cover would not go back on and stay on.

Needless to say, Wal-Mart will be getting this back! It's too bad I can't give 0 stars on here!

i bought this because i wanted a cheap digital camera to take photos with. when i finally got the thing turned on... it beeped for about 30 seconds and then shut itself off. many many times.

i called tech support, and they said they'd exchange it because the camera was eating batteries. finally, after a half hour on the phone. all i have to say is... batman would not approve of this camera. it's loud, unrealiable, and bundled with irritating software. do not buy it.

I purchased this camera as a gift. The camera never worked. We couldn't even get it to power on with brand new (high quality) batteries. You have to use a tiny phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment. We exchanged the camera, and the new one powered on, but would not save photos to the (compatible)card we purchased. The instructions were confusing at best and maddening at worst. This is not an appropriate toy for a child, and any adult would be crazy to purchase it for him/her self. I've rarely been disappointed enough in a product to even review it, but I'd like to save everyone the hassle of going through the heartache that I did. The seven year old for whom I purchased the camera was extremely disappointed on christmas day, and I am furious about it. The other thing that made it worse, was finding the exact same product at walmart for $25 less.
