5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Pamela Ferrell!, April 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids Talk Hair: An Instruction Book for Grown-Ups & Kids (Hardcover)
As an adoptive mother of an African American daughter I have always been relying on others to help manage my 3year old daughter's hair. I envied friends of color who labored for hours doing the hair thing with their daughters. Pamela Ferrell's book is enlightening, and educational. I am now able to have that special time with my daughter, and produce a well-groomed ethnic hairstyle she and I can be proud of. I've heard it said that,"No one can ruin a black child's hair like a white woman." Well, this is one mother who wants her child to be proud of her ethnic heritage and of her mother. So I say Thank you Pamela Ferrell.

3.0 out of 5 stars For Learning about hair, not for braiding instruction, October 18, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Kids Talk Hair: An Instruction Book for Grown-Ups & Kids (Hardcover)
I purchase this book and I found out that it isn't for learning about braiding. It's more of a educational tool about teaching children to love their hair. If you want to learn about braiding and cornrolls, this is NOT the book. If you want to learn or teach your child the basics of taking care of their hair, this will do only that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Picture Perfect, February 10, 2004

This review is from: Kids Talk Hair: An Instruction Book for Grown-Ups & Kids (Hardcover)
As a natural hair care provider, of un-processed/chemically free African-American hair textures, I purchased this book to offer my little clients some styling options for their natural hair. I love showing my little clients and their parents this book. It gives some great brief articles on proper management of our youth's hair. And OHHHH the young girls and boys in the book are adorable. Now if you are looking for step by step instructions of how to achieve the hairstyles showcased then this book is not for you. However there are a few step by step or diagram instructions on a few of the styles. I feel that this book is a must have for parents/guardians etc. of African-American children. Even if one is creatively or dexterity challenged in hairstyling this book has something to offer.
