Disapointed,

This review is from: For the Kids Three (Audio CD)
I own the first two For The Kids albums and love them. This third album is not so great. "The Lint Song" is so negative that it overshadows all the other songs. It talks about "your final date with death" and "I lacerate your throat and kick your face in half". Did Netwerk Music actually listen to "The Lint Song", by MC Lars, before they produced this cd? They should be ashamed of themselves!

This review is from: For the Kids Three (Audio CD)
Very good album and a good compliment to the first two. Our family (2 toddlers, an 8 year old and a preteen) like many of the songs, especially "I Want To Have Fun", "See You On The Moon", "The Babysitter's Here", and "Does Your Cat Have A Mustache?". These are very well written songs that don't grow old very quickly.
There are two songs we've removed (we purchased the MP3s and use our mp3 player to listen). We didn't load "The Poopsmith Song" and "The Lint Song" because we thought these were inappropriate for our toddlers. We're kind of tired of all the f_rt and poop humor in kids things so lyrics like "don't poop on your sister" just seem too obviously pandering to that theme. The Lint Song talks about "... doing a number two on your parents lawn ..." when under the influence of lint and also tells of a woman who died of lint exposure. Too close to a drug reference and a little frightening for the young ones. If you don't have an MP3 player but have a computer, you can still rip the music and just burn the tracks you like. The other songs are also good. Even the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and the "Wheels on the Bus" turn out very well.

Not Just For The Kids,
This review is from: For the Kids Three (Audio CD)
If you've been avoiding children's music because you think it's all too simple and cutesy and you're afraid you might drive off the road if you hear "The Wheels On The Bus" one more time, then look no further than the For The Kids CDs from Nettwerk Music.
They've just released the third installment of this series of classic and contemporary children's songs performed by an incredibly eclectic line-up of musicians, including Barenaked Ladies, Moby, Of Montreal, Mates of State, and Rogue Wave. Every track is a gem, done in a way that will have both parents and kids bobbing their heads and singing happily along. You'll even find yourself joining in on the chorus of Over The Rhine's "The Poopsmith Song" as they sing about toilet training. No, really, the poop most definitely goes in the potty! And try to resist the sweet charm of "I Want To Have Fun" by Of Montreal.
