EXCELLENT!,

Wonderful book for knitter's who are looking for something different! The book contains beautiful designs that are not the ordinary basic cable sweater or design dress. Projects include an american flag sweater, girls dress, even toys, which includes a huge horse to knit! Instructions are easy to understand and pictures are excellent! It is nice to have a collection of knits that are from other knitters out there instead of a magazine or book staff.

Great book for gifting sweaters,

I've made a bunch of the sweaters in this book. I love the patterns - very well done and some cool, unique ideas. There's a simple baby sweater that involves weaving a ribbon around the edge when you're done - really cute. I gave a friend's son the snowman sweater and he looked soooo cute in it! This is my favorite knitting book - and probably like all knitters, I have a bunch!

I *love* the stuff in this book. I'm making the "St George and the Dragon" sweater for my son, who is currently obsessed with dragons.I made the puppets for my nieces and nephews, who adore them, and the Gingerbread house purse was easy and soooooo cute! They even included ratings for each project (from beginner to experienced) and a section that explains each stich that may be new to you. This book taught me to crochet! I *highly* recommend this book.

One of the patterns in here "Beribboned Eyelets" is such a fantastic little baby sweater (6 months size worked with worsted weight yarn)that I know folks who have bought the book only for that. That said there are many other "must do" patterns in the book and I have done two of them already and loved them. Well written patterns for lovely clothing and toys.

If you're a grandma like me who loves to love your grandkids with creating handknits, someone with lots of baby or children's gifts to give, or a mom who clicks the needles to relax, this is a great collection that you will return to often. I've just begun "Beribboned," a gorgeous and very feminine baby sweater. The directions are well-written, the illustrations lovely and large, and the designs eclectic and innovative. I can make my knitting "to do list" for the next several years from this collection :)

Although I bought this as a gift when the time comes and I become a grandmother I will be sure to get a copy for myself. When yarn shopping with my friend we saw this book on display and noticed the projects were new and different. As we looked through the book she mentioned several of the projects she liked which is why I gave it to her for Christmas. Since it was a gift I didn't read it so I don't know how easy the patterns are to follow. My friend loved it and has already started to use it.

before making most of the projects in this book. While I have no problems with having a few nice clothes for children, the reality is that that kids get dirty, and it will break your heart if many of these sweaters are ruined. If you're the kind who gets portraits taken every year to send to relatives, the designs are pretty nice. Pass the sweater down every year to the next kid:) The other items, hats, toys, etc, were okay, but nothing special. |
