Best of the Kidsongs series,

My daughter (now 18-months old) got this video when she was 12 months old. She loves it and even now watches it atleast once or twice a week. She hums/sings along with many of the songs and especially loves "sakura". We think this is the best video of the Kidsongs series

The best kidsongs video!,

Me and my sister's love this video!Even though I'm 15 I still like watching kidsongs. The kids that are on the videos do act a little dorky sometimes, but other than that I can just sit down and watch one with my sister's almost anytime. Out of all the kidsong videos this one has to be the best. I love the way it takes you to different countries and you can sing along with songs that come from that country. My favorite songs on this video are: "I'd like to teach the world to sing" and "Waltzing Matilda."

This video is my 16 mo. old daughter's favorite. She watches and dances throughout the whole video. I don't care for the spaghetti segment like the other viewers, but the rest of the songs are very nice. My baby's favorites are "Frere Jacques" and "Kumbaya" The songs are great!

From a college student who was raised on 'Kidsongs' 16 or 17 years ago:
I'm not sure how I'd feel now about watching this video (it's been about 15 years). I would probably think it's disrespectful of other cultures, cheesy, and terrible. But this is why children are so fascinating; their most stimulating entertainment/education can come from the most unexpected things. Like this video. In reading the other reviews, I still lucidly remember every song and scene mentioned, with exception to the controversial 'spaghetti incident', interestingly enough. 'Kidsongs' came up in conversation recently, and my excitement was off the charts. I had so much fun recalling all of the songs and images from this video, and finding someone to remember them with was especially rewarding. I wonder if I would have turned out 'better' if I were raised on more culturally respectful material, but with 'Kidsongs' songs as my toddlerhood jams, I still managed to develop some a degree cultural awareness somewhere beyond The Spaghetti Incident. Plus, as a toddler I never made the connection that the French people from France singing 'Frere Jacques' were singing in FRENCH. It also didn't occur to me until I got to high school that my classmate Stephen Chen had Chinese heritage. Abstract concepts like culture, nationality, and language aren't ones toddlers should be expected to quickly comprehend. In my memory, I love this video.

Our toddlers love all the Kidsongs videos. They are after all childrens videos and this one is by far their favorite. In fact, my neighbors were sending their children to my house to watch it. Now they have their own. Wonderful video!

We bought this video years ago for my now 7-year old daughter. It's a favorite right now for my 20-month old. She sings and dances along... and sometimes gets the rest of us going, too! The kids who perform are quite talented and it's the type of video I think is good for kids to watch if they're in front of a t.v. I agree with another reviewer who didn't care for the spaghetti song, otherwise it's a great video. We have "Boppin' with the Biggles" and like that one, too.

Not one of the best, but still very good,

I've seen and purchased several Kidsongs video's. The video starts off with the kids singing "We have the whole world in our hands". I love the idea of "Mr. World" taking the kids to different places, and teaching kids there is no difference in people that have different skin color. There's is only one piece that I really don't like, and that is when "Mr. World" takes the kids to Italy. "Mr. World" slams spagetti into the sauce pan, then takes the pan and spagetti and drops handfuls of noodles onto the kids heads. The rest is very good. Great singing and entertainment that keeps my 18 month old watching for the entire 30 minutes.

My own children loved these when they were young & I think they are a great addition to my teaching tools. I discovered the children weren't familiar with many of the songs (London Bridges) so I used it as a teaching moment to teach them HOW to play London Bridges & they loved it! We just replayed that song several times & the students had great fun not only going under the bridge & seeing if they would get caught (& a kiss from Mrs. C - me) but building the bridge with me! This DVD especially was great to use during the Christmas Season as we went "Around the World with Christmas" so they got a little Social Studies lesson too! I will be adding the other 13 original Kidsongs DVD to my classroom set. A great addition to any parent/teacher's "bag of tricks". They are not only fun to watch, but you can participate with your child during the songs too!

My grandma had this video from when she was a teacher for kindergarten and 1st grade. I was in my early teens and loved to watch it every time I went to her house. Now I am a mother and have been wanting to get it for my kids! I am so excited to get this! The kids go around the world to visit some of the children's heritage and traditions! The songs are great!!!
