Terrible,
By
This review is from: Kidz Bop 15 (MP3 Download)
Aside from some of these songs just being inappropriate for kids to be singing along with, the performances are terrible.

Awful,

This is a great idea, because we so obviously need to inundate our kids with music that's totally not appropriate for them. I guess celebrities and the media just aren't sending them enough of the wrong messages on their own and need this help.

My daughter has most of the Kids Bop cd's and when we listened to this one the kids voices were not as good as the other ones, in her 9 yr old words "they sound awful"

And They're At It Again,

I fail to realize the point of remaking songs that for the most part have the exact same lyrics as the initial version. Why do that when I can buy the original and have better vocals and better background music? The slightly different melodies to the songs are just plain horrible. Why mess with a good thing?
Jason Mraz's song "I'm Yours" was ruined. Not only was the melody of the song changed for the worse, but both the Kidz and the adult singer's vocals are very poor when compared to the smooth and soothing voice of Jason Mraz. The Jonas Brothers's "Burnin' Up" (don't let their Disney Image fool you, the Jonas Brothers do have talent) was also destroyed due to the vocals of the singers. Finally, the Pussycat Dolls and both songs by Rihanna should not be on a CD that is trying to showcase 'kid friendly' music. The Pussycat Dolls's image in the music industry is everything but wholesome. And Rihanna's song is about leaving a man who cheated on her. Since when was this good for children's ears? Not to mention the lyrics were changed to fit the 'kid friendly image'. When you have to mess with song lyrics to make it acceptable to kids, you should just leave it alone as obviously it was not meant for it to be on the album. Parents, trust me, the originals are better.

Just plain bad and absolutely not for kids,

This is another example of the entertainment industry recycling their crap to every segment and age group they can. This CD seems okay because it is sang by kids but it is not. The topics are not appropriate at all. Too much adult centric relationship matters/boyfriend/girlfriend/attitude. Kids have absolutely no need to try to make sense of such content or to feel that it should be part of their world because after all, it is sang by kids...
It is with such products that the entertainment industry pushes kids into pre teen behaviors and consumption. Kids become more concerned about acting 'cool' and pop culture than being kids...They then reach teenager years and are missing the pieces to become adults. You might think one CD won't do that and you are right...It is the continous exposure to other 'products' and 'communication' that ends up doing it. Musically..this thing is absolutely crap...done cheaply...all based on marketing... Kids are absolutely not asking for such CD. the system made them and their parents believe that.

I agree with all of the negative reviews above. My children are 8, 6, 3, and 1. We buy lots of kids' music.
But these songs are: 1) At times, lyrics are inappropriate for the younger audience. 2) Sung completely by children, as compared to previous Kidzbop's that we've purchased 3) VERY forgettable If you want to listen to these songs, buy the originals! Same lyrics/ better singers! I'm glad I could preview them before we bought this album.

The songs are great for kids. My 4 year old loved this CD. Of course its extremely annoying for parents and all the kids sing so nasaly but its obviously not for us its for the kids and they love these CD's

Huh?,

I'm not even a parent, I'm a nanny, and this CD disgusts me. Why are these songs on here? I would rather listen to 8 year olds covering 21 Gun Salute instead of hearing them say when they "grow up they want to have groupies"--and why is that song not censored when "So What" is? That makes no sense to me. I seriously think this is some kind of sick joke. Someone is laughing all the way to the bank.

A Kid's Review

The Kidz Bop in the past had the original artist singing the songs with the kids singing only parts of the songs or in the background. This Kidz Bop is purely kids only, which I'm not happy about.

GREAT!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kidz Bop, Vol. 15 (Audio CD)
My 5 year old saw this advertised on TV and shouted "I want that"!!! So I came on Amazon and got it for her. I have to say that this is a really cute CD! If you like top 40 kind of music (and current tunes) then you will enjoy this. Kids sing the songs but they are really good! This is a CD that I don't tire of song after song after song.... you will find yourself singing right along!
