I tried turning the headphones on but I had to put pressure on the batteries with my fingers to make the connection work.

I already broke a piece of plastic in the battery compartment so we have to constantly push the battery back into place.

I just received my headphones and used them for a trip to Disneyland. They are awesome and my kids loved them!! I disagree with the comment about the OEM headphones. Our headphones that came with the car are not as comfortable for the kids and it is coming apart. The Kidz Gear headphones are great cause they have a softer lining around the ears that probably won't come apart like the cheap foam things that are around the headphones we have now.

The sound quality was very good. I tried them out myself. I like how they fit, even for an adult. They are very comfortable and sleek looking. My kids would fight over who got to wear the Kidz Gear headphones over the ones that came in the car.

The customer service at Kidz Gear is also very good. I had a question for them on how to use the headphones at home with our TV. They were so helpful and explained things in a way that a non-tech person could understand. It is hard to find great customer service these days and I was very impressed with them. They were awesome!

I would highly recommend these headphones to kids and adults to use. They are so comfortable and I like how they turn themselves off after a while to keep the battery life. Our headphones that came with the car doesn't have this feature. You don't even know how many times we've not had headphones to use cause the battery has run out.

I WOULD RATE THIS PRODUCT 5 STARS!

These headphones are GREAT in my 2003 Yukon! No static, they automatically shut off if the kids forget to turn them off, and the cushion part is very durable. Great price too, the "cheapest" pair at my local Radio Shack was $40 for a pair that had the flimsy foam covers on the ear pieces. Our drive across country was a joy with these headphones. I'm so glad I ordered them. Note: They would not work with a portable DVD player, these are wireless for in car DVD players.

We put in batteries, turned it on and these headphones worked immediately with our car DVD system. SO HAPPY to have discovered this product after years of dealing with oversized headphones for our kids. Nice design. Great sound. We bought one to try it out and are now ordering three more for our other kids. Great product!

This Kidz Gear Wireless headphone was purchases to add to the RES we have in our Honda Odyssey. Out of the box, it didn't look like it would holdup too long after a child starts to use it. The headphones do work and work well with the RES and automatically tunes into the audio of the van. After a couple weeks, the pads fell of the headsets and I was able to put them back on but they are not secured very well. Also, the Power button is a little small to switch ON/OFF. For the money and size for little ones, it is worth the purchase but even so, could be made a little more solid.

I was trying to give these the benefit of the doubt since there were several positive and negative reviews. Really I had no other choice because there are really very few options for kids' headphones. I ordered these for my 5 year old and 3 year old for a 24 hour to and from car ride. The ones that came with our Odyssey are too large for their heads so I was hopeful that these would work.

Upon opening and installing the AAA batteries, I noticed that the thin, flimsy plastic lip that holds the batteries in place was already broken. The plastic was shaking around the battery cavity. I was, like, OK, no big deal - we can still make these work. Wrong. The cavity that holds the batteries is HUGE and apparently this lip was the only thing keeping the batteries in place. I tried turning the headphones on but I had to put pressure on the batteries with my fingers to make the connection work. This was obviously not going to work. Now the other pair I ordered wasn't damaged, but I'm sure with my kids manhandling them, they would be in no time. I have no patience for kids' items that are not created to handle kid wear and tear. For 30 bucks a pop, the quality should be much, much better than this.

So, you shouldn't buy these, under any circumstances. Oh yeah, they also DON't even WORK! The sound quality is terrible - has so much static - I turned one of my kids' dvds on to test them out and I only caught like very 5th word. Ugh. This is one of the first reviews I've even submitted on amazon - I am THAT unhappy with this product.

Thus, we had to brave our first family road trip with no headphones. Luckily, we faded the sound to the back of the van and my husband and I couldn't hear the movies too loudly. I wish there was a better option for kids wireless headphones. These are not worth even a shot.

THe unit sounds really good, but the on/off button is too stiff for my 5 year old to turn on and off by herself. We use this unit for our minivan DVD system, which means that every time my daughter wants to watch TV on a long trip, I have to pull over to turn her headphones on for her. A product designed for children should be more child-friendly.

We bought these for our youngest daughter (2). they are slightly too large for her head. Moreover, she has a tendency to pull them off and remove the soft covers. This is a huge problem. Really, the foam should be built-in, rather than attached. We are constantly reattaching the earpiece covers, they seem delicate and are easily removed, while somewhat challenging to put back (not a good combo).

Other than that, they work fine, although, an auto-off feature should kick-in once the signal is turned off (like the factory ones do).
