I struggled with how to rate this toy.

On the one hand, we've had it for a year and both our sons have used it. Our 10-month-old in particular, loves this thing. He sits and presses the buttons to hear the different types of music. He dances along and waves his arms happily. What more could a parent ask for, right?

However, when our older son uses it and hits the drum parts with the sticks, the sound is delayed by a second or two, which makes it less fun for him.

And here's the biggest problem - when the original packaged batteries finally died last month, it stopped working entirely. We tried three different brands of new batteries, adjusted the tightness of the batteries as best we could and still nothing works. This isn't the first toy this has happened with. Perhaps something about the factory installation of the batteries?

So, I'm not rating this highly because it's dead suddenly after one year of use. But we did get one year for a decent price. I just hate to replace it with the same thing and have it happen again.

We purchased this for my 20 month old grandson because he seems drawn to music for some reason and we couldn't be happier! This is not going to produce high quality sound but for a child I think it's awesome! It has backround music you can play while drumming or you can simply use the drums alone. The drum sounds are fine and the drum sticks work well. It does not take much of a strike to make the drums play which is nice for little kids.

My grandson loves it and plays with it all the time. For this price you can't really go wrong!

I ordered this toy for my son's birthday. It came and he opened it straight from the shipping box. We put in fresh batteries only to find that the toy didn't even work. Amazon was quick to send a replacement, and in about 3 days we opened a new one, put in batteries, and viola! It worked... Kind of. The reaction time to hitting the drums is VERY slow and sometimes non-existent. It does not play the beats for a long enough period of time to even play along with it. This toy is a piece of junk.

Got this for my grandson, he wanted a drum set, we didn't want to spend alot of money at first, without knowing how much he would use it. He loves it! We will wait a couple of years and get him a more expensive one.
